Kids were excited to use the "water park" and seen on website, never got to use it. Was never set up. =-(
Didn't get to use it and one of the reasons we booked the hotel. Nothing to like since it wasn't operating.
we bought the all day pass that included all of water activities - well worth the money. All day waterpark, all day Bucky the shark, all bungee, and all day slide - great value$
The kids did have fun here. But the by the hour, on the hour was a little bit of a pain. We had all day passes but it really was just hour by hour. If you left the hour you were done. And you had to be there 10min before the hours to get the orientation or you could not join the hour. If was fun, but could have been set up better.
This was a lot of fun. They only allow a certain number on per "one hour" session so it was not crowded. Great exercise :-) and lots of laughs. $16.00 per hour/session when we were there.
Cost is $16 / person, and worth it. Six year old loved it. One of the floats was too big for her, but she did not care. She had so much fun on the other floats, she did not want to get off. The cost buys you a hour of playtime at a specific time. We loved it too. It was fun to slide down the waterslides into the gulf, a challenge to pull up on the sides, and hilarious to watch each other fall off the floats as we tried to do things. The day we went the waves were pretty big which made it more fun to try to hold on as the waves came in.
Ok, maybe it should be included, but if get that they need to limit the crowd. It was a lot of fun, and we would do again. Most parents/adults seem afraid to try, and those that did struggled a bit with some of the stations. We had a good time though! Maybe we are a bit more adventurous...?They can't control the tide and currents, so ignore the reviews that complain. They will refund if they have to close. Do it, and behave like a kid!
What a work out! My husband and I did this for the first time this year. We are both fit and athletic- and I'm telling you- whew! What a workout. The tide was very rough and after our hour was up they actually took it down- which I get. It didn't seem safe towards the end. Definitely worth it.
Our kids ages 15, 12, & 11 really liked it. My husband and I got to relax and have a drink on the beach while watching :)
We have been to the GHO a few times but this was our first time paying the extra $16 for the waterpark since we had our 6-year-old with us this time. It is a lot of fun but quite a workout.Climbing on these inflatables takes a lot of muscle power and there is absolutely no grace as adults try to maneuver the various playthings. You are required to wear a lifejacket, which at first I was bummed out (so uncomfortable, and we're strong swimmers) but after about 10 mins, I was very thankful to have the lifejacket on because it allows you the option to just float and recover from the energy you just expended on the last ladder/slide/trampoline.The waves and current can get pretty ramped up with all the motorsports cruising around, which makes swimming from one toy to the next pretty challenging also. Overall, it was very fun and the price gets you one hour of playtime (you have to get your tickets for a specific hour, they start on the hour). My suggestion would be to book an early time when the tide and currents are a lot calmer. There is a height requirement so the really little ones can't go on this, and wouldn't be strong enough to do it anyway. Our 6yo is about 4 feet tall and she was tall enough and did fine.
My kids age 14 and 12 had fun the hour they were in Splash Island. The price was 16/per person for an hour. They were probably at the higher aged end for this but still really enjoyed it.
A few hours is all you need, then you get tired but it was nice to be inter-active with the kids and they enjoyed bouncing around. It enhanced our beach experience but getting us up off our butts.
It was very exhausting. The kids loved the trampoline. They said they saw some sting rays out there. I just wish it didn't cost so much!!!!
my teen boys loved it so much, they did it twice. the life guards really make sure that the kids are safe so parents can relax while the kids play. if the tide is low, no worries, they stop the activities until it safe for the children. Definitely worth the money!!
Waited 3 days into our trip to visit. First several days the attraction closed early or stayed closed because of rough weather. When I finally took our 11 yr old we learned that this attraction was NOT covered under our daily $35 Resort Activity rate despite it being located directly behind the Tradewinds Beach Resort. The Large water slide also on the beach was but not this. Very disappointing!
