Stopped by here on a lazy afternoon while looking for antiques and came away with much more than I bargained for! Young tour guide Luke Robinson schooled me on T. B. Ripy, a Kentucky bourbon baron who bought antiquated distilleries and modernized them then resold them for profit. The mansion is being restored to its grandeur, slowly and surely. The Attic is a small gift shop quaintly situated out of the way and behind the mansion. It's a great place to pick up a Kentucky souvenir for a friend or some pulled cream candy for yourself.
The tour took about thirty minutes and we went through the first and second floors of the house. The Third floor is off-limits to visitors. It was very interesting to finally get to see the inside of the house which my husband and I have driven by for years and always wondered what it would look like inside. The tour is free but donations are welcome.
