Lift tickets are reasonable. The lodge is clean, the food is descent & priced fairly. The staff is helpful and friendly. The lift lines are never long. I learned to snowboard here & keep coming back for more. I always have an enjoyable experience. The drive from Nashville is manageable...if you chose to stay the new Doubletree in Lawrenceburg is Fantastic. You can't go wrong with a trip to Perfect North : )
This was a treasure to find. I have only skied in Colorado and Montana so I wasn't really expecting much in Indiana of all places. But this place was really great. They make their own snow so it can get a bit icy but all in all, we really enjoyed it. Loved how they do their free ski lessons so it is a great place to learn how to ski. Yes, the runs are shorter than I am used to but certainly not terrible and it was very easy to get back up on one of the various lifts and ski some more. Included in the price is a snow tubing area that has 3 different sets of runs which were very exciting. The place was staffed like crazy so there was never a shortage of someone to ask a question or assistance. The only thing preventing me from giving this place an excellent rating is the other skiers. My wife and I both agreed that we had never seen such an inconsiderate bunch of skiers .. ever. We've been skiing over 35 years and there is certain etiquette that one has to follow. We were both almost run over a number of times at the bottom of the slopes because they had no consideration for the SLOW signs at the bottom. The first class in their free ski school might consider including ski etiquette. Perfect North might consider using some of their staff as a ski patrol to monitor the out of control skiers who never slowed down at the bottom of the hill. Having said all that, my family really enjoyed Perfect North and will certainly be coming back.
Imagine a place where people can ride down the slopes in fifty degree weather. Imagine a place where beginners, experts, children, and adults can all experience the same thrill going down the hills. Imagine a place where families and friends can all get together and have a fantastic time. This place can only be Perfect North Slopes. Perfect North can give people the perfect skiing, snowboarding, or tubing they desire. Every night, the slopes and groomed perfecting each run, and every night, fresh snow cascades down onto the hills to give people the same snow found out west. For skiers and boarders, Perfect North slopes offers a variety of difficulties for each individual person. There are many black diamonds runs for those who wish to test their limits and skill, while there are more gentle hills for those who are learning. Every hour, Perfect North Slopes also provides lessons for any one of any age. Perfect North even has user friendly chairlifts that quickly ascend to the top of any hill. However, for those who are bored with hills and runs, Perfect North has one of the best train parks in the area. They change the jumps, rails, and layout constantly for a variety every time. If skiing and snow-boarding don’t are out of the question, Perfect North also has a tubing area . This area allows anyone or group to tube down hills without any training or experience. Perfect North Slopes can accommodate any one of any skill level and provide the best time for their money. For those who are planning a trip but have never been, there are a few things needed. Perfect North provided rental skis, boards, boots, helmets, and poles, but they do not provide clothing. Skiers, boarders, and tubers should bring waterproof gloves, pants, and coats. It’s also nice to have warm socks, pants, and hats as well. Rentals and a pass cost decent amount so bring money and take a look at the website beforehand. Also, food in the lodge is great and generally well priced, but if you have any allergies or specific needs it is nice to have your own packed lunch. In general, Perfect North Slopes is the most crowded on holiday weekends or on Friday nights, so try to plan around those times if at all possible. However, if that isn’t possible, Perfect North is always less crowded in the morning. Either way a day at Perfect North is great day no matter how many people are there. Perfect North can be one of the best places to get out on the slopes if people plan accordingly. If they don’t people can wind up cold, wet, and sad. Enjoy a trip here if at all possible because it’s hard to find a better experience anywhere else.
The Perfect's and the Feiss's do an excellent job and that alone is worth the experience. They are the only place around to ski or tube or snowboard unless you stay overnight.
This is a wonderful place to get your kids to start skiing. The site is well organized. The rental equipment is a in decent shape. There are plenty of attendants and the safety side is well taken care off. The lodge is nice and warm and the cafeteria is reasonably priced. The rental prices are not the best, but if you join a ski club, than you can get 4 trips with equipment for $120, which is great if you want your kid to learn to ski. The lessons are included and the instructors are great. There are lots of hills for different levels, and obstacle courses for the daring. We love going there.
This is a great place for the family to ski, snowboard or tube. The cost is reasonable and first lesson is included. You have the option of changing between skis and snowboard without an added cost. The rental equipment is in good shape and they help you get the right fit and settings for your level. The lodge is a large space but the number of families that come in early and claim tables for their things, crockpots, and large picnic lunches is crazy. There is often no place inside to sit near the lunch hours. We have gone back and plan to return again.
A group of 20 of us went here for NYE and had a fantastic time. We arrived early and set up a table upstairs. We were having a birthday party too, so we had cake, balloons and other goodies. The ski lesson is included in the lift ticket and was very helpful. The group all had various ski levels. Mostly rookies so the smaller hills were great for us. For NYE the lodge had a DJ and fireworks. The tubing is fun and great to do as a group. The lines in the evening started to get long because there is a special in the evening. There are fire pits by the tubing and we enjoyed sitting around them to warm up and relax. The food choices are pizza (good) nachos, sandwiches, fries, etc. Prices are reasonable and overall it was a great family trip for NYE.
I took the kids during the week. They were challenged by the new terrain. I thought the lifts were efficient. We made lots of fun runs together. I never come to a ski resort for a bargain but I thought the prices were fair. Rental equipment for the children functioned fine. We did not utilize instructors but they appeared to be doing a fine job. When my kid crashed on a black diamond run by himself , a ski patrol assisted him within seconds. Thank you to whoever that trail angel was. Lifties answered questions about the trails and were very nice to me and the kiddos. It was nice that tubing was included but we never got off the slopes. Pizza in lodge was tasty ( we eat a lot of lodge pizza, so we know) Staff all around was exceptionally friendly. Look for midwest skiing, it's pretty cool. The snow was pretty good and only iced in a few spots so for around here that's about all u can ask for. We came to check out the steeper terrain compared to our Mad River. We came to practice for bigger trips into WV. It's a great place to come and work out your legs and shake down your gear. We are happy. We will return about twice a year now. I have recommended it to my friends.
The price is a little expensive. $25 for adults and $20 for kids. Our family of 3 paid $70 for 2 hours to tube. Keep in mind the price before you go. The bathrooms were tiny!!! There is no changing clothes in the restroom so keep that in mind if you have kids. It was very crowded since we went on a Saturday around noon. They seemed to have more than enough tubes. They even had smaller tubes for kids. I was glad to see the center of the tube did not open onto the ground. The moving sidewalk was really great! It has room to put your tube on and ride up. There were 3 different groups of slopes. 23 lanes were open the day we went. In 2 hours we only got to go down 5 times! We went straight up and as soon as we came down the hill we got back in line. Don't go in thinking you are going to tube non stop because hat isn't going to happen. For the money we would have liked more time or more trips down on the tubes. Something to hang on to while riding the sidewalk would have been nice also. We already have plans to go back but we will probably try going earlier in the day and will probably pay even more money to stay longer. They have a small snack/cafeteria area. Be warned that it is also expensive.
I've been tubing and skiing in the mountains so my expectations were low but they have some pretty steep hills and lots of snow making equipment. The temps were in the upper 40's/low 50's so it was slushy for tubing so we didn't go as fast. The runs were great, the lines moved quickly but beware of the motorized walkway you have to stand on to get to the top. At other lifts, they have something you can hold on to but not here - everyone awkwardly gets on and tries to maintain their balance. This was not easy for me or my 8 yr. old, eventually we got it but not after some embarrassing falls. I found it very stressful for us both and am not anxious to go tubing there again simply because of this "lift". Imagine a moving walkway that goes very quickly and is very steep. Then try to navigate it with a huge tube!
This was a nice weekend trip. We hit the slopes, tubing, and the casino near by. The staff inside was excellent helping get your equipment. The staff out on slopes, not so much. Complaining and a little rude. The free instruction session was really helpful (every hour at the top of the hour) and the instructor was great. Over all a excellent adventure!Price responsible, we bought discounted tickets front the hotel we stayed at (holiday inn). Nice hills for all levels of experience (or lack of). Enjoy
Well to say I was skeptical about this place was an understatement. Having grown up skiing in Vermont and Canada - the idea of going skiing in Mountain-less Indiana did not exactly overwhelm me with excitement. Wow! We had a blast! The runs were good - you just have to be careful because there are a lot of newbies who only know how to go straight down so it can get a bit dicey. But overall we had a great time. My daughter who had never been skiing took the free lesson and loved it. We there for about 7 hours! The Tubing was a lot of fun too. This is certainly not the place for advanced or serious skiing. But it is definitely the place to go to just have a fun time. Will definitely go back!!!!
I flew my daughter and grandkids up to Indy to see snow.... none to be found but Perfect North Slopes saved the vacation! We had a blast! The grandkids are 5 & 8 years old and we had so much fun. Went on a weekday and $90 total, but that was 2 adults and 2 children. Well worth $20 bucks to spend unlimited hours there! The tubing lanes were empty - no wait. We did snow angels and a snowman in the Toddler area. The heated tent with the hot lunches was clean, as was the bathrooms. The meal items were cheap and the "ride" up the moving sidewalk was fun for the kids, too. They had never seen snow or a mountain before and we all had the best time! Can't imagine having gone to Indiana in January and not seeing snow so this was great. I have been snow tubing in NH before, and this was faster, more fun and less strenuous. None of us were sore afterwards. We got help and advise when we needed it/asked for it and the music they played over the loudspeaker added to the fun! Highly recommend Perfect North Slopes to everyone!
My husband wanted to go skiing for his 40th birthday, but we didn't want to travel too far from home. The solution was a 4.5 hour drive up to Perfect North for some family fun. It was pretty expensive for the 4 of us to have one day of skiing, rent bibs, and rent helmets. It was his birthday and we knew what the prices were before we went so that wasn't a surprise. The first thing I noticed is that skiing isn't for people who have large calves and use rental boots. My legs were in pain, but I asked the lady at the rental area if they had anything to help and they had extenders!! I was glad and used them on just one leg as it was the one hurting the most. The snow itself was nice and groomed up very well. I had never been to ski before so I went over with my daughter to the ski instructor waiting area. We had just missed a class started so we waited about 45 minutes for a new class to begin. My son and husband tried their luck at snowboarding but they both didn't do too well and later changed to skis. The skis were where it was at for them. We got an instructor who immediately made us toss our ski poles and insisted that we attempt to learn first with no sticks at all. My daughter did ok with this, I wasn't as lucky. My legs were hurting pretty bad but he insisted that we tighten the boots til we had no feeling left in our feet. Seriously I think he said, "no matter what it's on, move it over 2 pegs" or something like that. I was in pain pain pain at that point. The instructor didn't seem to like us very much and told the kids to "don't roll your eyes, nobody is making you be here, have fun!" thanks for the pep-talk. If any kids said their instructor was kind of a jerk, I'd believe them. It was me and a lot of kids in the class. He also asked where half the class went after 1 run and instead of waiting or looking he was like, "I could tell they didn't want to be here anyway." Well ok then. They showed up about 5 minutes later.I went down the hill 2x then the 3rd time with the main instruction being "Make a wedge" "make a larger wedge" and the like I ran into another class and fell down almost on top of a 6 year old. I felt bad and apologized to her. The instructor came over to me and took my skis off and was like, "I can see you're in pain" (I had told him at least 3x) and that was the end of my skiing adventure. I stayed on my feet the rest of the day taking photos of my kids and such. I WISH I had thought to ask about rental returns as I had used them maybe 30 mins and realized that I was in too much pain to carry on.THANKFULLY we went over to the tubing after l lunch. I loved tubing! Tubing didn't hurt my fat calves. Tubing we were able to link all 4 of us together and go fast down. Only one of the magic carpets were open but that was ok, the wait was never very long even as it seemed pretty decently crowded going up the hill. We asked the folks working at the top to take our picture and they did so we got a family shot of us tubing which I really love! We tubed maybe an hour and a half then went back to the hill.I walked around and froze taking photos of my kids and husband in ski school again with a way better coach. This coach actually showed them how to use the poles, how to go down the hill side to side, and I don't know if he told them to wedge as much but they were all having fun and had no classes to run into at the bottom. They all went to do a big hill and I went in to enjoy the fire in the lodge. My calves hurt for 3 days but thankfully today I can walk again. Lesson learned man, next time I'm going to have to either lose lots of weight or get some custom boots, or just watch and not rent equipment. :)
Rentals suck!!!! Dangerous I almost really hurt myself using those cheap Rentals. Super over priced, for the quality. I will never go here again!!!!
