We were there with two 11 year old boys, who loved the zipline (they did it twice it was so much fun) and the other attractions at Massanutten (the water park, obstacle course and go-carts were also a highlight for them).
Woodstone at Massanutten: Time Share.Enjoy the changing of the colours in the mountains! Pictures cannot describe the beauty and freshness of the air. The Resort offers family fun including an indoor/outdoor water park (in season) zip lining (2 -"tree-top" is best) horse back riding, white water canoeing, skiing, tubing golf (2 courses) and on and on!! Accommodation at Woodstone for Timeshare could use some TLC but the rooms are large, clean and well equipped. Four Season entertainment at its best! On site restaurants offer a wide variety of selections. This was our second trip. We'll do it again in the Fall.
My family actually did this tour twice because we had so much fun the first time. The tour guides really made the activity highly enjoyable and were encouraging for those of us (ahem, me...) who were a little apprehensive. I would highly recommend this tour for families!
Stayed the week with the kids . Beautiful place for golf, adventure park did the zipline and gokarts.the water park is year round indoors and out .we had a ball. Skiing is right there for winter getaway. Near all the caverns and Skyline drive.
This resort is OUTSTANDING! There are zip lines and other attractions for the whole family. Kids will have a blast in the Water Park! A lot of things to do. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Definitely will come back!
We had the pass which made this dirt cheap!! A series of zip lines, lots of fun and the guides where great!!
This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip, probably even more than the waterpark. We're a family of 5 with a teen, 9 and 7 yo. They have the mega zip line which the 2 adults and teen did, and an adventure park for the younger kids with a smaller zip line. We all had a ball!!! Would absolutely recommend this to everyone.
A climb up a rope net to the next platform, walk across a cable/board bridge and then just a cable. Zip line four times in the canopy and then a 90 foot decent to the tower. Then a 90 foot straight drop on a rope to end the experience.
The guides, Kameron and Beth, were terrific. They made you feel confident and at ease. The lines were increasingly longer giving a better ride each time. There was more than just the lines. Climbing the robes, crossing the blank, the wire and other obstacles made the tour more interesting. Did not hear one complaint from those in our group. The price was very reasonable even without an activity pass from the resort.t
The staff is great for this particular adventure. From the time you step on the platform to suit up until you are safely back where you started, the staff is superb! The young lady explained everything we would need to know at the beginning and even added humor during her spiel. We were reminded of everything she told us at multiple "stations" so no need to worry if you don't remember it all. The staff casually conversed with us as we suited up...we felt comfortable from the very start. We took the ride to the top where our zip lining experience would begin. I was afraid to step off the platform at the top to zip line over the canopy. The staff member told me to stand on the lower block to start my zip lining experience...it worked! I was off for a thrilling, breath-taking beautiful ride. Once I returned to the other end, one staff member helped me onto the platform. Now the scariest part for me was stepping off the platform back to the bottom. I was coached by another staff member to look at him (instead of the leap of faith I was about to take) and make baby steps to the edge. He told me to take one last step and I was on my way back to the bottom safely. Trust me, this experience is worthwhile and the staff is EXCELLENT!!
Alex and morgan were our guides today for the 9:30am ziplining expedition and I have to say they made what could have been a nerve racking experience for a few people in the group alot of fun. They got us all harnessed up and took us up the hill to practice then the fun was on. I strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a little excitement for you and your family. Be sure to ask for them by name you wont be disappointed. For sure, not to shabby...
On our trip this year to Massanutten, they've now opened a Mega Zip Line. About 750 feet long it's a nice rush zipping down the mountain next to the ski slopes. It's $12.00 per ride and you have to be at least 70 lbs and no more than 270 lbs to ride. They also have a summer tube ride and the kids loved that. 2 rides for $8 or they have 1 hr and 2 hr tickets. They have a moving walkway going up the mountain to save you energy. We did not try the canopy tour yet but it looked interesting and worth a try next trip.
We had activity cards, so it was only $19 per person. I had never ziplined before, so it was a new experience and I loved it. There are other rope-type obstacles on the course and our guides were awesome. They said no cameras, etc., so we obeyed, but others did have cameras, so we missed a great photo opportunity - I'll know next time!
We had a great time!! Jonathan and Heidi were fun and knew what they were doing. First they give you a little training, then you have to climb a rope latter and then you zip from platform to platform. There are a few surprises along the way. This is not for chickens so if you're the type to scare easily this is not for you. My 10 year old daughter, my 12 year old son and I don't scare easily so it was no big deal. My wife was a bit scared but still enjoyed herself. This is really something they will always remember.
We went to Massanutten Resort to go snow tubing, but the weather had been warm and snow condition was not so good. But right next to the tubing park is the Zip Line. Neither my husband or I had "zipped" before and there was no line so up we went. $10 a pop is not bad if you are only going to ride once or twice. We didn't have time to think about what the activity really entailed and stepping off the platform into thin air the first time is a little unnerving, but what fun! The line ends at a tall platform and you are belayed to the ground, so after one zip you are pretty experienced with the feel of the harness and it's support. Neither of us is in great shape and no harm was done :) The staff was relaxed and put us at ease and these two 60+ yr olds will definitely be back when the canopy course is open.
