Came here last night to try my hand at Duckpin bowling for the first time. WOW! The bowling alley is so vintage and cute. The man working the counter must have worked there all his life. I feel like this bowling is definitely easier and faster paced than regular bowling. A major plus, since they charge by the minutes you use the lane, not by games or amount of people. One hour for three people including shoe rental was $25!

Wow, what a way to reminisce...i had not been in a Duckpin Bowling alley since the early 1980's. When I stepped into Danbury Duckpin Lanes , I was 8 years old again. The whole decor is 1960's...and not by any effort of the owners...its just that nothing has changed in 50 years :) Speaking of the owners, they are the lovely, old fashioned, hard working, red blooded American types. When it was obvious that we had no skill at bowling a man in his 80's who worked there cam over and gave us some friendly tips. Lastly, the very reasonable pricing made it a very satisfying experience.

Have been to several birthday parties and have hosted our own kids parties here too. This is an old bowling alley that offers duckpin bowling, which is great for young kids. they do nice job helping families out with hosting your children birthday parties. Simple, but the kids have a blast throwing the small bowling balls down the lanes and stepping on the floor peddles to clear the pins. And the price is right.

We held a double birthday/bowling party here for twin teen-aged girls and their oh-so-typical teen-aged friends. Since none of the attendees knew what Duckpin Bowling was, we were interested enough to hang around just to watch the reactions and were delighted to see how much they enjoyed the experience, the atmosphere and the sport itself. On the night we booked there was a regional tournament going on in the main room so the kids go most of the lower room to themselves. Out of the public eye, they were able to slowly grasp the game and proceeded to have fun for the next 2.5 hours. As the walking checkbook in this outing, I was delighted to see them have so much fun.Even if you don't have a specific reason to go, just a night out with family and friends is a good reason to try this very unique form of bowling. Ask the desk if you would like pointers or just roll the ball and see what happens. You won't be sorry.

Where else can the whole family have a blast for an hour and a half for $25? A friendly staff and old timey feel makes this the perfect hole in the wall entertainment for all ages. Been coming here for years, almost never have to wait, never had any problems, and I've had a lot more fun - and success - than regular big ball bowling. Highly recommended.

I had my son's 7th birthday party at Danbury Duckpin Lanes this past February. He absolutely loved it. There is a private party room with enough lanes for quite a lot of children. The balls and pins are smaller than normal bowling which is great for the younger children. They were pleasant to work with and my son is already asking to have his party there again next year. The place was a bit run down which had me concerned at first but kids just don't care about that!

I went here with my wife and 2 and 4 year olds. This is duckpin bowling, so the bowling balls are small sized and the children can hold them and they are not too heavy (the 2 year old needed a little help). It is a very old bowling alley, but it has a lot of charm. The staff is very friendly and very welcoming of young children. Kids and adults have to wear bowling shoes, for the toddlers they don't have bowling shoes in their sizes so they let them wear sneakers. They have a separate smaller side room with lanes where they let the families with younger kids play (the bumpers are already in the gutters), which is nice so the little kids don't disturb the "serious" bowlers. This bowling alley is very "old school"- there is nothing electronic here, so you are keeping score with a pencil (and your own math skills!) on a scoresheet and even the pins are reset with a manual reset button. However, the atmosphere is friendly, and the kids had a good time. We paid by time increment, not by game. The prices were ok. I don't live in the immediate area, but I would definitely come here because the duckpin balls make it so much easier for the children. We combined it with a stop at Monster Mini Golf in Danbury and had a terrific outing for the day.

Loved the smaller size for the kids. They had a great time. Never seen anything like before. Definitely give it a try for some inside activity when it's hot outside in the summer.

Duckpin bowling is a form of bowling where anyone can just pick up a house ball and get an above-average score. In contrast, to excel in standard bowling one must have a reactive ball, a hook and knack for adjusting to different lane oil conditions or patterns. The softball-size balls do not have finger holes, so you can use any ball. The location was close enough for a day trip from NYC. The staff was friendly and eagerly explained how Duckpin bowling worked. They have about a dozen lanes, a family friendly atmosphere, refreshments and a party room for kids. The price was fair and charged by time on the lane, which is the trend among bowling alleys these days, as opposed to paying per game. You do the scoring yourself, which brings me back to my youth. In summary, this place was a great find in an accessible location for a great experience of an underrated sport.
