Dink our beer, here's how it made. Good tour, good beer. Nothing too spectacular but it was a nice stop.
The brewery is modest, so don't expect much. Despite that however they make a damn fine beer. I recommend the Wisconsin Amber and Capital Pilsner. The tour of the small facility is $7 which includes a souvenir beer glass and four 3-ounce samples of any beer available on tap.
Came for the tour, stayed for the beer and music. Was a bit dissapointed with the brevity of the tour, but for $7 four samples and a glass is fair. Live music playing in the bier garten was a nice touch on a Saturday afternoon, and the barrel-aged pumpkin lager was one of the best I've ever had.
We were on a self designed brewery tour weekend, so this was one of five breweries we visited. The tasting bar was great. There were a lot of beers on tap, 4 tastings w/ the $7 tour. Decent size tastings. The beer garden was great. My understanding is many times they have live music, not on our saturday because it was a home wisconsin game. But you can bring in food, or we saw some delivered. We could have easily skipped the tour and just done the tasting tour instead. it was small operation, no bottling, and the info was spotty. Would visit again, but just do the tasting tour and enjoy the beer garden.
This was a really great venue. The tour was informative and fun; tour guide was very knowledgeable. Beer was good. Live music was awesome. I would highly recommend a visit here!
We enjoyed the tour which started out with tasting various beers in a souvenir glass that comes with your paid tour. I was amazed at how much goes into making beer. I had no idea. Very informative tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgable.
Go have a beer! Or two! Atmosphere is laid back and the smell of the brewery is endearing. Clean, neat, and simple- great for after work or taking a tour and tasting their brews!
The tour is very wet so worth the trip. The beer is pretty good but not great. They need be a bit more daring as they have a lot of beers that are hard to tell apart (the amber and fest for instance).
Capital Brewery has won many awards for it's quality beer. It has lighter beers and darker beers. They also have seasonal beers. Huge beer garden and inside bar. Brewery tours are available also. Live Music outside in warmer weather. Place to meet people in the garden. Check the hours for music. They start real early and quit early. It's a great place to stop after work on Fridays. Lots of seating. Tours on Saturdays.
Missed the tour, which I heard was good, but spent time in the Beer Garden sampling beers and listening to the band. Great atmosphere at this small craft brewer - will return again for the tour!
Touring this brewery was a blast. All the employees were polite, smart, witty, and inviting. The gift store was nice, the tasting room was big, and the process and experience well worth the trip.
The employee who led the tour made it just outstanding - many questions, and then tour guests who answered correctly received another token for a free beer at the end! Very informative and of course the beer is outstanding. Highly recommended!!!
I like this place as it is a great venue for live music and place to meet friends. Dogs are always welcome, one drawback is that it is only open during seasonal times. Also I think the prices could be a bit less expensive. every week they have featured food vendors or you can bring in your own
We visited the Capital Brewery during the Midwest Tandem Rally. I enjoyed the tour of the brewery and the free samples . All the beer is good, but my favorites are Supper Club and Washington Island Wheat. They had a band playing at the Beer Garden.
Capital Brewery has a fun beer tour that I would recommend. They have a beer garden that's fun to visit in the summer, but it gets VERY crowded. Unfortunately people come early to reserve the picnic tables which are always full. They also don't serve food, just beer, which is a bummer. Their beers are great though.
