Really happy to have this place in a rural county... Pretty inexpensive and quite a bit of fun...Putt-putt is fun, pretty basic course... Laser tag was great... Arcade is pretty cool, a bit small but good selection... Missed out on the go carts and ice cream but will certainly be back to finish the deal!
We stop in here frequently with the grandchildren to get ice cream. It is cheaper here than some of the ice cream shops in this area. Employees are friendly and very accommodating with special requests. My grands are not old enough for the activities, so all I can comment on is the ice cream, which is very good!
I really love their ice cream, arcade, laser tag, mini golf, and go karts. My children really had a good time here!
The best thing about Sweet Retreat is the lasertag, which is truly unique for the area. The arena is new & clean and has two levels. You won't find another laser arena like this out in the country. It's a bit small, but plenty big enough for a decent game. The ice cream is REALLY good, visitors are well-behaved and unlike an urban attraction, parents accompany their kids and make sure they're not tearing things up or getting in trouble. The go-karts and track are well maintained, and the staff at the arcade - though young - are helpful, courteous, and know their stuff. My only complaint is that the lasertag is rather expensive if you're looking to play regularly. Lasertag is a physical activity that I could see kids wanting to do everyday, and why not? They're moving and playing, which is a lot better than sitting in their rooms in front of a game console. But at $7 dollars a game (yes, they say it's 2 games, but it's really 1 game, 2 short rounds), it's a bit much for kids (and parents) to afford. We toyed with the idea of a laser tag team and weekly matches with other teams, but at present rates, the cost for a 4-round match would be $28 a player. Not bad if it's just you, but if you're paying for others (like your kids) it becomes expensive fast. As it is, we only visit once a month now. If they'd give discounts for teams and take a couple of minutes to set the computer up to save our scores, we'd be playing a lot more!
We are repeat customers! They have a neat go-kart track, an arcade, a miniature golf course, and lasertag, as well as an ice cream and candy shop. Facility is well cared for and clean. Karts are well maintained. Ice cream is really good! Weekly special is 3 activities and $10 for arcade - all for $20. We highly recommend Sweet Retreat between Seneca & Walhalla, SC.
