We've attended several events for years. Recently it came to mind that Mr. Brooks was a generous giver to create this center and I'd like to see it become "all it could be."
The Brooks Center offers a variety of shows for all to enjoy. I actually performed at the Brooks Center when I was a college student. Theatre, music, dance, etc.
We attended the Discover Clemson day recently where about 300 rising seniors were invited to campus as academic recruits. The Brooks Center for Performing Arts is a lovely auditorium with superb acoustics and comfortable seating (especially the side balconies). No seat is too far from the stage. Very impressive space and excellent Discover Clemson experience!
Great, great show! Theater very nice, not too big or too small. All the seats are good. The show was on schedule and very well-managed.
Where to start? Accessibility is wonderful with plentiful nearby free parking and a comfortable lobby area to greet acquaintances and enjoy before seating begins. Friendly and helpful ushers and comfortable seating. The stage is large in both width and depth so the performers have space in which to present their work. An orchestra pit in front of the stage and terrific acoustics give producers and directors great tools to work with. We saw an outstanding performance of Mama Mia! on October 1 with a packed house. ABBA's music is of course the centerpiece of the show and was very well done. While the opening was a bit on the powerful side there was no discernible distortion. The strong cast put on a show in top form and we loved it. This was not our first visit, nor will it be our last. While we enjoyed the performance, the venue made it all possible.
My wife and I have been members of the Brooks Center for many years. The performances there are superb, and I highly recommend the Brooks Center for culture and entertainment. The acoustics of the stage is amazing, and we have had a number of performers comment on its excellence. They do have some free performances. We are proud to be a part of the Brooks Center.
Well, I have seen several programs that I was entertained by, but thenight when I sang in The Messiah - a walk-on performance that affordedme an opportunity of worship during the Christmas Season - was mostmemorable.
The Brooks Center is home to some of the best entertainment in the Upstate of South Carolina. A wide variety is planned for every season. They feature national acts as well as Clemson University students and faculty. In addition, there are a number of free concerts throughout the season. In almost 15 years we have never been disappointed in the presentations at the Brooks Center. Lillian (Mickey) Harder has been the artistic director since it opened and she ensures that they always the best. It is pertinent to note that prices are very reasonable and some events are free.
If they have a show or musical event you're considering seeing, do it. This is a wonderful venue and the talent is always top notch.
