This is a beautiful golf course. If you are looking for a scenic course in ND, this is it. Bully Pulpit definitely has some challenging holes to it. I would also highly recommend a cart... without one, you will be exhausted beyond exhaustion.
Great course just outside of Medora. We went out at 2 and the course wasn't very busy which was nice not to be rushed. The front nine very scenic right along the river. The back nine is breathtaking with tee boxes on the sides of hills and off of cliffs. I defiantly recommend golfing here.
Every time I play here I am amazed by the scenery. The course itself is a great golf experience but the views alone are worth the price of the green fees which are very reasonable. The views always are different and spectacular because of the changes in the weather and the time of of day. A must for any golfer.
Staff from checkin to starter to end all great. Course in great shape and although it was busy, no one was pushed or had to wait on the tees. Back nine of course, 14-16, the highlights.
Let me preface by saying this course is beautiful. That being said the staff is full of Pricks. On a recent outing to this course while playing with a large group they started us on the round. While keeping a decent pace not impeding play too much as there were 2 five some behind us we were followed by the player assistant for 3 holes at which point he made our group split up. So we did I played ahead 3 holes to finish the front 9 with this guy following me stroke by stroke. When I asked him to move on he said to me no I'll move on when you tee off at this point there was a group on their second shot on the par 4 9th. Now I'm not the longest off of the tee but 280 isn't out of the question. I refused and waited for them to get to the green. At the turn I went to visit with the course management and asked that they talk to him and leave me alone at which point they asked myself and the group to leave the golf course. I'd love to say I'll go again but I just can't tolerate that type of customer service.
Really beautiful scenery as you golf! My husband and I golfed while our kids and I got another cart and were along for the awesomeness of driving a golf cart on some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! It's a really fun, neat, unique place to golf! The only thing is they charged not just for another cart but an $18 fee each for myself and two kids to ride along as a non-golfer. I understand renting a cart, but $54 is way too high! We paid it because it's so pretty and the kids enjoyed it too!
This golf course has several tee boxes so it can be played by golfers of all levels. Playing from the tips would offer quite the challenge. The greens were in good shape as was the rest of the course. The front nine was relatively flat near the foothills of the badlands. The back nine offered some spectacular holes/views. Bring lots of golf balls in case you aren't hitting your drives straight because we did see a rattle snake in the area off the rough. The fairways are generous for the most part. Their replay rate can't be beat and you can even use it the next day, which is awesome. We played our replay on a Monday and even though the course was jam packed the pace of play was still fast. Well worth the time to stop and play!!! Would play this course again and again.
A challenging but fair course, we did the golf and stay deal with the Rough Rider Hotel, very reasonable fees. The course is built into the natural contours and is challenging but fair. The back nine is the most dramatic setting I have seen in the USA. All in all, a fantastic experience. PS, just call for all reservations, the Medora web site is awful.
This course is set in the Badlands of North Dakota, and has beautiful scenery, particularly holes 13 through 17, when you climb into the hills, and have many elevated tee shots. If you can hit it straight you should score pretty well. Greens and the fairways are in great shape.
This is a beautiful golf course.......top 100 public courses in the US.If you can't play golf, go for the view!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed a Friday afternoon of golf at Bully Pulpit. We were surprised at how empty the course was. We weren't held up at all, which is nice trying to golf and make it to the musical in the evening. The course is in great shape and is maintained meticulously. It was good to see so many workers out on the course, taking good care of everything. They all were very friendly to talk to.The bathrooms on the course are very nice as well as air conditioned, which was a bonus. The clubhouse had some good deals on Bully Pulpit "swag" that was 30% off. We picked up a couple of nice polos. The course was tough, yet not so difficult that my girlfriend didn't get too overwhelmed. She enjoyed herself as well.
There are 5 very scenic holes 13-17 that are worth the green fees to play it. The course is not particularly challenging, but still a nice course to play.
We love playing the Bully Pulpit. But the last time we played the course was over crowded. Every hole was backed up, people on the green, people in the fairways and two or even three groups waiting to tee off. Every hole was like this. They need bettering spacing on their tee times and not let people on when the course is fully booked. The course was in excellent shape and the views on the back on breath taking.
There are a ton of Golf courses in North Anerica, but this one is by far the most beautiful course! With 5 Tee boxes, this course also challenges every type of golfer. I recommend everyone to at least once go there!
We've played here many times. You won't see anything like it. Challenging, rugged and beautiful. They've upped the service in recent years, with more outside assistance, starters, etc. Worth the drive.
