vino vaqueros horseback riding

I took my wife for a surprise horseback riding/wine tasting/picnic adventure and found Vino Vaqueros in Santa Ynez. I couldn't have possibly made a better choice!From the first second I called to make a reservation, Jaye was kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. Not only did she help by giving information about the ride, the times available, and other helpful info, she went above and beyond. We are both vegan so I asked what kind of meal would be served. Within a minute, she texted me the menu of the restaurant they use so I could see if there was anything for us.We arrived on the day of the ride and everything was promptly ready to go. We chatted for a few minutes, got to know each other, got some riding tips, and mounted our trusty steeds, Marshmallow and Freckles. The ride was beautiful, relaxing, and the perfect speed for us. It lasted about 80 minutes and toured up and down the hills and through the vineyards. It was a great start to the day.We arrived back at the barn, Jaye set up the picnic table for us, poured us a glass of the Buttonwood Sauvignon Blanc (a very nice, not-too-sweet and not-too-dry white wine), said "I have to pick up the kids but feel free to stay as long as you want". So, we did. We sat in the peace and quiet while we ate our lunch and enjoyed the view.All in all, it was a fantastic day with a truly great, kind, attentive company. Everything is well kept and it was great to have the two dogs as company, as well. I would definitely recommend Vino Vaqueros to my friends and hope to come back again soon. Be sure to take plenty of pictures!

The area is known for the nearby vineyards and a great way to see the area is by horse. VV has great views of the rolling hills and the grapes growing. Our guide was excellent (Hannah) and the horses about right for us. A glass or two on the patio after the ride topped it off well.

Devon and jaye were wonderful! We had a blast! Horses and view was amazing! It was my first time riding and it was alot easier than i thought! A must do!
