I am so glad a friend recommended this place to us. It's huge! They have so many native south Florida wildlife. They have daily shows and even story time for the kids. It's a non profit that only asks for donation in lieu of admission prices. The gift shop was cute and you can even bring a picnic. They provide covered picnic tables. The restroom were clean as well. It's hidden gem nestled in jupiter. After just 1 visit, it has become a family favorite for my 19 month old.
Never would I think to find such a diversified Place tucked away in Jupiter Florida. Staff is mostly volunteers and knowledgeable staff. Great for kids of all ages!!!!!
So happy I found out about this on trip advisor, my teens said it was better than the zoo! I loved everything! 5 stars. Place is very clean also. We had a free hands on experience where we got to learn about animals and their habitats also we even got to pet and touch them! Baby alligator, raccoon, turtle, snake, and more. Such a great experience for the kids. Make sure you check the schedule on map that they give you to visit the little pavilion in the back for the little show it was great! I loved it. There is nothing to lose if you come here! Everything to gain!
Have been here multiple times. Great place for a short day adventure. Free of charge. Walk around and view animals on your own. Very clean. Does not smell
This is a wonderful place to spend an hour or two on a hot day. Lots of Florida flora and fauna without a long walk in the sun. Well worth the time and a solid contribution.
This is a great place to go with your children or friends when you have a few hours to kill. Entry is free and all they really ask for is a donation. I would bring a bug spray, for different times of the year you will feel like the prey when the mosquitos discover your presence. I would also wear sneakers/shoes and not sandals, since most of the trails are uneven. In your walk through the park you will see many animals native to Florida and you can spend as much time as you like looking at them.
great venue for a walk when it's too hot since it's all beneath the trees and really nice done. It was great for an hour for our 2 and 4 year old.
The day we were able to visit was rainy off and on and we wondered whether to go or not before leaving town. We decided to give it a try, as the only cost was a donation so if we didn't enjoy it in the rain we could just leave and be on our way. We really enjoyed our visit! If in doubt, put on your rain gear and go! The animals were fascinating and the people who work there were wonderful and informative. We attended a presentation in the amphitheater that included input from their junior campers and was very good! Good work done there. We were there an hour and a half and could have used another 45 min or so but needed to get on the road. We happily left a generous donation.
If you are looking for something to do with your grandchildren, particularly ages 4-12, this would be a great choice. Centrally located in a populated area but with a feeling of isolation once inside, the variety of birds and animals is impressive and the entire attraction can easily be seen in a little over an hour with less than a mile of walking. No admission charge--just suggested donation boxes along the way.
This is the real "McCoy". Up close and personal, examples of the original residents of Florida (Flora, Fauna, and Wildlife) reside here behind glass and bar, under the good care of professionals. You'lL step back in time to when your parents took you the the Zoo. No bright lights, no animated characters,(no $300 admission tickets either), just Florida in the raw; the way Trapper Nelson knew it. Grab a picnic lunch on the way (traditional picnic table with grass carpeting no charge) and take it (with the "kids") to one of the BEST EXHIBITS in South Fla. You'll loooooooove it. The hidden gem of Jupiter.
Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is a wonderful place. Great interaction with wildlife and quite a learning experience.
This is a wonderful place to bring out of town visitors so that they can get up close and personal with Florida's wildlife. They do a great job rehabilitating and saving our animals and there is always a surprise around every corner.
Local wildlife, wonderful animals to admire and take pictures of. They survive with donations, so please leave something to help them out.
The Sanctuary mostly has animals that can never be released into the wild because people took them in as pets or they were injured. The staff is very knowledgeable and it's obvious they care a great deal for the animals.Walking through and seeing these beautiful animals in cages is depressing, especially knowing they're only here because people think its a good idea to own an alligator or a panther or a bobcat. This place is a great place to take children, it's free and accepts donations.
My sister and I took two of her daughters (11 and 7) on the monthly night walk through the sanctuary. Although it was chilly, we all had a blast. The Education Director led the tour and provided excellent information on the impact humans have on wildlife. Then we ended the 60 minute tour with s'mores around the campfire. Great evening outdoors ... Something different to do on a Friday night!
