Bluewater explorers is virtually the only dive charter boat in the area, and there's a reason why...Bob runs a great operation and there's no reason to dive with anyone else. He's a pleasure to dive with, is very knowledgeable of the local area and is very intent in pleasing his customers, no matter their experience level. I can't wait to dive with his outfit again!

The experience I had with BWE was excellent. From planning the trip through emails with Captain Bob, to getting off the boat at the end, I was thoroughly impressed. Being a dive professional myself and currently working full time in that field, I expected a lot, and I got it! Great crew, fun boat, diving was also good. Found lots of toad fish, beautiful high hats, and a bonus polka dot BATFISH! I would highly recommend this company!

My girlfriend and I were in the Tampa area, and tried to find a dive shop that would get us out diving. After 2 weeks of calling around, I finally talked to someone in the Clearwater area that said to call Blue Water Explorers. Bob (owner) answered right away, and gave me some information about diving. He also mentioned that due to the weather (wind) they hadn't been out much lately, but I should call back when we landed. We were able to get a 2 tank dive trip scheduled while we were down there. Bob and the instructor that dove with us were amazing. They were so friendly and knowledgeable. They were also very down to earth and joked around with us. On our first dive we saw a few schools of fish, two Goliath groupers and a stingray. On the second dive we saw more Goliath groupers and a few barracudas. I would highly recommend diving with Bob and his crew!

My son and I are both certified divers so during our vacation in Florida I booked a trip with Blue Water Explorers. I e-mailed Capt. Bob the dates we were going to be in Florida and I was surprised to get a reply the same day. The boat was very comfortable and roomy for the 16 mile trip, once we arrived at the site Capt. Bob briefed us with the site details. The wreck we dove had an abundant amount of sea life, lots of goliath grouper, a nurse shark and many other fish. I found Capt. Bob very knowledgeable and professional. We both enjoyed our dives and we are looking forward to diving with Blue Water Explorers again.

I recently completed a couple of dives with this company and really had a good experience. The briefing was thorough, the boat more than adequate, and the crew was professional and friendly. Captain Ken and Divemaster Pam made the dive experience very easy and enjoyable. My reg gave out on me and they all made sure (including Captain Bob) I didn't skip a beat with any incident. I look forward to diving with Blue Water Explorers again.

Had a great time with Capt Bob and Chris on our two tank dive. They took care of everything and were very helpful. Made sure we were safe and had a fun dive. Got to see some manatees on the way back too! I will definitely plan to dive here again on my return!

Had a few days off during a business trip to Florida - contacted Capt Bob through a local dive shop and got out twice! Pam the Dive Master was great - she lead both dives. Dive was well organized and executed. It was clear that they know how to run a dive trip and do it well! I will dive with them again next time I am in Tampa because I know I will have a good time.

Capt. Bob and his crew are very helpful and welcoming. The trips are not rushed and everyone seemed to have a great time on our trip. We saw hundreds of fish and even a small shark. Great trip and service all the way around. We will dive with this charter company again soon!

In February 2011, my wife and I took our first salt water dives with Blue Water Explorers. Captain Bob and his crew did everything they could to make our dives memorable, comfortable and stess free. We did eight dives that year with Blue Water, and when we visited Florida again in 2012, I did not hesitate to book several more dives with Captain Bob. Bad weather did cancel several days, but I appreciate that safety comes first with this company. The boat captain's dive site briefings make you feel as though you know the site before you even enter the water. The divemaster will be as helpful as you need, keeping a close eye on the newbies, or giving individuals such as spear fishermen as much room as they need. I don't spear fish, but the charters I have gone out on with Captain Bob where there are fishermen, they all seem to be overjoyed with the spots the Captain chooses. The biggest compliment I can give to Blue Water Explorers is that I made sure my son and his girl friend made their first dives with them, because I knew they would have a good time and most of all be safe.

I have been out diving with Captain Bob twice now and both times were a pleasure. I've been out with a number of other operations where they just shuttle the divers to the sites and back. Captain Bob goes far beyond that in making sure that we had an enjoyable day. When we got to the first site, his divemaster went into the water right after he anchored to check the viz before we went in. When the divemaster came back up he said the viz as limited to 5 feet so he pulled anchor and took us to a site with better viz. I haven't seen an operation in a long time that dived in and checked the site before sending the divers in. When the conditions weren't great he invited us to come back the next day, no charge. Even though we did dive, he felt we didn't get a great dive in due to the conditions and wanted to try again tomorrow. Captain Bob did a lot more than just shuttling us to and from the site, he took responsibility for making sure that we actually have a great experience. He was great to the non-diver in our group who tagged along with us. This will be my first choice for diving the next time I'm in the Sarasota area.

I am diving with Capt. Bob, since we moved to Florida last year. I was diving/spearfishing CA, OR, WA, HI, Mexico: and have to tell you-this captain knows places to go and will not risk nor try just to get divers out only to collect money. His both boats are comfortable and it is always small group (5-6) that goes on each one. Always came back with Hoggies, Sheepheads, Flounders, Groupers. Plenty of sealife to see: Goliath Groupers, sand and bull sharks, turtles. Very nice natural and artofficial reefs 25-45 min from his shop in Cortes. Going back with him on 3/17/12 and 3/31/12(weather permitting). Dive five times-get your 6th trip free!
