We golf here weekly in the summer and the one thing you always hear about is the greens. Too fast, too slow, the hole is always moving to a yet even more impossible shot, etc. It's a decent course, with some challenging holes that keep you focused. You're out on the edge of town so you even see some wildlife now and then. Next door is the Milan sports men's club, so if you don't like distractions, don't golf when the shooting range is open. They have a good selection of local and national beers at the clubhouse and everyone always raves about the food. If you can get past the frustration of the greens, you'll probably have a pretty nice day.
The staff here is always friendly. The course is in good shape. The greens are very challenging with undulations. The price is reasonable. This is a hidden gem in Rock Island, Illinois.
This course could be a whole lot better if they had a better greenskeeper. Fairway grass is often let grow to more than an 1 1/2 inches deep. My wife and I refer to the fringe around the greens as the frough because you cannot really putt from it. There are times when more than a quarter of your ball is covered in the fairway. Be sure you watch your ball because you can lose it in the rough, that includes the rough less than six inches off the fairway. Only good thing about it is the staff. Geens do not appear to ever be rolled, ball can hop and change directions six times in a six foot putt.
The layout is fine without being a "killer." The prices are inexpensive for the quality, and it is a good showcase for a course carved out of the midwest prairie.
Nice longer course for the serious golfer. Played many times there and some years the course seems green and lush but a few times not so much. Prices are good, nice riding carts, nice driving range, but staff could be a little more friendly.
