I was a little disappointed at how small it is, but I still enjoyed my visit. Despite it's size, it is charming. You can feed the fish and turtle, enjoy the sound and sight of the waterfall, and there is quite a variety of plants to see. The staff was friendly and admission was reasonable.
Very beautiful and very nice peopleWe enjoyed seeing all the different areas that they have to offer
We wanted to love this place, but couldn't. It is kind of expensive to get in and it is very small. It looks like they spent a whole lot of money, but it lacks the beauty and magic of other botanical gardens.
They have a chocolate day and it is wonderful to visit and pig out there is however a cost, but it is minimal.
Nestled in the center of the Quad City area is a garden retreat worth a visit. The Quad City Botanical Center is a conservatory within a garden. The layout allows a visitor to be transported for a tropical garden walk. The landscaping and Koi ponds are beautiful. Information about the plants and their native geography make the visit even more enjoyable. Their were four generations of family on our trip there, and it was a treat for youngest to oldest. The QCBC is a great escape.
We enjoyed the fall colors, mums, huge grasses, many butterflies even though it's October. The children's garden is a great addition, with water spouting from huge clam shells and alligator. Enjoyed feeding the koi in the conservatory.
I loved the vegetable garden. The botanist on staff met with us to answer question about its design and how I could create my own.
Nice stop to spend an hour or three with the group ! Very lovely building and wonderful exhibits of Natue plus a Children's Special Area ! People hold weddings & Events there. The Gift Shop is great too !
I truly enjoyed working my way through through this facility. The atmosphere is welcoming, and I even bought a beautiful aloe plant for home!
A pleasant surprise in the Quad City area, with a surprisingly extensive tropical collection. This isnt' that large of a facility but the exterior gardens are well done and interesting. As with many of the "non-major" gardens, they clearly rely heavily on volunteer garden-keeping. The newly opened children's garden is unique with it's watercourse. It's sure to be a pleasure when completed. Well worth a couple of hours if you've them available while in the metro area.
This is a nice place to see. We took my mother. We also had discounted tickets. It was a nice quite afternoon. Buy fish food to feed the koy along the way.
Enjoyed a beautiful wedding in this facility. Great room offered plenty of space for the reception as well.
Went early spring with my sons field trip, it was lovely as always but what really got me excited was the kids garden they were building. It has a accurate miniature Mississippi River, end with an alligator waterfall signifying the gulf. On a kids point of view it was fun, for the parents educational about out home
A nice relaxing botanical center that still has sections under construction. There is still a children's water park area under construction that will be nice for people with children. The greenhouse inside was nice with a good water feature and fish. Food is available for purchase to feed the fish and you could definitely tell the fish are fed well as they gathered at the surface when you walked by. The outside area is nice, however, the plant identification posts need attention as a lot of them were missing the plant ID or post altogether.Overall, it was a relaxing atmosphere that I would recommend if you like botanical gardens. I would return to see what changes they have made in the future.
The best word I can use to describe this center is relaxing. I think it is the sound of the water that makes it so, but the benches placed strategically always make me want to take a book along to sit and read while I gaze at the flowers. Though small, there is a lot to look at and it makes for a fun visit with grandchildren. I am excited about the children's area soon to be open, as well. I think we are blessed to have this in our community because it is frequently opened for meetings and special events which are always great to attend, too.
