naperbrook golf course

Great course when you stay in the fairway. A bit rough to get outta the rough. Price was average. Starter was very pleasant. Good for a local course.

I had gone a few years without playing Naperbrook but began playing it regularly last fall. I have been back out a few times this spring and it has been in very good shape. It always plays fast and the greens and fairways are typically in very good condition. They also have great rates after noon for junior golfers. Naperbrook is wide open. You do not need to be straight off the tee to score well. If you want a highly challenging golf course, this may not be your place. If you want an enjoyable round of golf and a decent price that plays fast, Naperbrook can be a good choice.

Naperbrook is a nice public course that is generally very well maintained and provides good value for the money. The clubhouse, pro shop, snack bar, and range are all very nice. I have played there well over 50 times.It is not quite a links course, but has few trees to worry about. Water is in play on several holes but is not the nightmare it can be some places. The one gotcha will be the tall prairie grass if you stray off the fairway much. As for the staff, they are generally great, and much better on average than the sister course Springbrook that is also owned by the Naperville Park District.I can't say the place of play is truly maintained all that well. I've had the occasional 5 hour death march on a weekend and wondered where the rangers were. 9 times out of 10 however, you'll be done in 4:20 with few issues. With no one on the course, you can easily hit 3:00 walking if you stay out of the weeds.Yes, Terry in the pro shop can be a $%^& at times, but is not usually rude. Reviews from people with only 1 or 3 entries on TA need to be taken with a huge grain of salt.As for the rainout policy mentioned in another review, that is pretty standard at courses everywhere. Gee, you think you lost money for part of one hole's play? Given Naperbrook's fees that probably amounts to less than $1. Finish the hole in the rain next time like a real golfer. :-)Try out Naperbrook if in the neighborhood.

Golfed 1 1/2 holes and got rained out. When we went back to the pro shop they deducted the one hole we played and gave us a rain check for 17 holes. We thought they were kidding at first until the guy behind the counter with the attitude said "you guys did play 2 holes, didn't you? Rather that stopping in the clubhouse and having lunch we left and spent our $$ at another place. And if we return to play our 17 holes, which we were told we have 60 days, that will be the last time there for my group, and we will not be staying for lunch!!! After reading luke2007's review, the same guy must still be working in the pro shop.

Nice course. Quality staff. Pace policy makes sure play isn't too slow.

I always enjoy this public course - it has been in good shape and better than your average municipal course. There are other nearby courses that have more interesting holes, but for a casual round, it is a nice course. Between average and very good.

I played there with my best man before my wedding from New Jersey had great time!! we both thought the people were pretty nice especially Steve coming from New Jersey!!I this was in Aug!! called 3 weeks later for a reservation next week Terry or the manager of the proshop was very rude to me gave my name for tee time and demanded a credit card to hold the tee time!!when i played with Steve they never asked!! this is not a big deal but his attitude about was bad and he was rude!! he then basically called me a liar!! saying i never played there!!told me not to tell him how to do his job! i was very nice and calm with him but i could of lost it and i could of took this farther but Naperbrook and himself are not worth it!!i I made a tee time 10 min after that incident with his poor customer service skills at another course they were very nice and even appolgized for what happen to me!! i will never reccommend Naperbrook to know one and i know about 25 people that play on a regular basis!! there are so many more nice courses around and they lost my buisiness!!!stay away don't play here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
