Make sure you have the appropriate vehicle to travel on this road. Get there at a decent time if you want to park, parking is limited. All in all, a nice place to say you have been there. Heard the food is good and considering the line, it must have been, but didn't have the patience to wait, it was bad enough waiting for a drink.

If you are in Parker, AZ then you must take a day trip to the Desert Bar. Get off AZ 95 on Cienega Springs Rd dirt road accessible by most cars. We went when a band was playing that was fantastic, The Sidewynders with a young lady who should be on tour. They played a variety of songs but she did Pontoon that was better than Little Big Town. The place is completely self sufficient, no phones, power lines or internet service so no plastic, bring cash. They have cold beer, full bar with food. It's only open on weekends and occasional holidays (from noon until sunset), from Labor Day through Memorial Day. The 5 mile trip thru the desert is a great sight seeing trip. The Desert Bar at the site of an old copper mining camp, lots of history here

I would have given this a five, but on many weekends, the road in, while completely driveable, is quite crazy with the amount of vehicles, the speeds driven - especially around corners, and long waits for food and beverages. BUT, once at table with said food and beverages, it is quite a treat to be able to enjoy both in such an unexpected spot! Went towards the end of the season a few years back, it was us, a few other people, a friendly cat, and a wonderful way to say hello to summer and the hot days ahead. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND!

We always visit this site which is five miles in the desert outside of Parker Arizona. The experience alone is worth it. The drive is a little dusty and can get quite busy on Sundays, but they have food, drinks and a live band on some weekends. The kids like climbing the rocks around the desert area of the bar and some of the original items are still there. A must for all travelers.

Always fun and always expanding this place is a lot of fun.I try to go whenever we visit Havasu. Would definitely recommend a truck/jeep to get here since the road is rough.Be aware it is only open on weekends and only seasonally so, be sure it's open before you go. Bring cash and a will to spend a bit of time

This was a very fun place to go to- a place I will always remember - it's a good 15-20 minute drive on a dirt road off the highway- with lots of turns and motobikes, 4 wheelers, dune buggies racing around - helicopters flying above your head - but the drive makes you feel like your going out into the desert in the middle of no where, which is exactly what we wanted ! The kids LOVED it !!! They have great mountains for them to climb, horse shoe throwing, live music and good food ! We got the tri-tip sandwich which was great and a big platter of chicken nachos to share w everyone - this is a must go place with the family while visiting :)

At the end of a dirt road, passable with any vehicle, you end up at one of the most interesting bars you will ever visit. If you appreciate the reuse of building materials and a man's unusual vision, this is a must . Even the toilets are worth a visit! Check the hours/ days it's open before going and go hungry, thirsty and ready to enjoy live music in the desert.

The Desert Bar is great fun! I took my parents and we all had a blast! Its a wonderful way to spend a lazy Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Half the fun is trekking through the desert in an Off- Road vehicle to get there. Bring cash because they do not take debt or credit; but don't worry its so worth it! Sit outside or at the inside bar, enjoy the view and live music. Basic menu but good food. Just what you need after trekking in the desert. So much fun! I take everyone here that comes to visit. A must see when traveling through Arizona. Only open on weekends and during the cooler months. Check there website for dates open and live music schedule.

We take EVERY visitor we have come to see us in Lake Havasu to the famous Desert Bar. Everyone loves it .. SUPER QUIRKY but what a trip /memorySuch an unusual place. Located out in the 'middle of nowhere' is this great place to spend an afternoon. 2 ways to get there; the main road in is dirt, but passable in a passenger car, just go slow & don't be afraid of a little dust. Or for the off road adventurer the 'back' road in offers some great scenery, a few challenging rock and hill climbs but well worth it. you can check out their website . thedesertbar.com There are NO road signs telling you where to turn etc. but around mile marker 151 on hwy 95 between Lake Havasu and Parker Az is the road turnoff east onto Cienga Springs Rd. then about 5 or 6 miles into the bar. The bar is only open from after Labor Day to Memorial day. And only on Sat /Sunday from about noon to 5 pm . LIVE MUSIC ! and crowded. Limited drinks selection , but enough that you can find what you like and it's COLD. GREAT food and plenty of selections.During peak season , there is often a helicopter service there offering rides (for $) , which is also worth it for a brief but wonderful opportunity to see the open desert from the air. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE UNIQUE LOCATION here so check it out. * most unique womens bathroom Ever!!

Just read the naysayers reviews here and I don't get at all what they're talking about. The Desert Bar is a superfun place...in the middle of the desert...that requires taking 5 miles of unpaved road to get to. It's old and rustic and full of character. And it's only open on weekends. If you don't know all of that before you go, you didn't do your homework. Who gives a rip if the owner is a jerk? Maybe he is, but I certainly don't go there to cavort with him. They have a terrific band, good food, wonderful scenery, and cold beer, but leave the kids at home.

This is a rocky, unpaved trip just over 5 miles into the desert NE (?) of Parker, AZ. It's not a difficult trip though, just plan to travel slowly.Once there, it is an oasis. The decor is quirky and original. The beer is cold. The food a little spendy but if you stick to the burgers it hurts a little less. The country rock band was enjoyable too. I believe the place is open only Saturday and Sunday from November through April (or something like that). So go. It's an afternoon of "different."

We had heard about this place from family who winter in Lake Havasu. We decided to check it out on a recent trip to Lake Havasu City, and we were glad we did. It is seriously about 5 miles into the desert after driving on a rough and rocky desert road. If you have a nice car you care about, you may want to drive something else. We drove out in a small SUV. There were a lot lf people driving jeeps and 4x4's. The desert bad has expanded in recent years, and is a multiple level rustic bar restaurant that is open from Oct. - April. There is a live band daily at 1:00pm. The place doesn't open until 11:30am and closed at 6:00pm. The food is basic, hamburger, hotdogs, chips, cost about $3.50 for a burger. There is a second vendor downstairs selling a few more opens that are a little more money but the portions were a little larger. There are ample seats, parking and restrooms. Children and dogs are welcome. Very fun place. The drive from Lake Havasu is beautiful.

The food is terrible and overpriced. The atmosphere is fun. Neat bathrooms and decor through out. Drove from Lake Havasu City -- didn't find it worth the 1 hour drive, especially with a 2- and 4-year-old. Children are welcome but I wouldn't recommend it.
