We stopped by to hike the trails and found the rangers very helpful.Mile markers on the trail signs would have been helpful. The hype about the view from Interruption Point was a little overboard. The area was fenced off and blocked some of the view, but I found more scenic spots along the trail.I had forgotten my hiking stick, but they had a supply available for a small donation. All in all, it was a good day for a hike and we enjoyed it very much.

My husband and I are staying in the RV park for a week; three nights so far. Some RV spots have full hookups and some have only electricity and water. The grounds are watered with a sprinkler system and feature green lawns and huge trees. The small camping spots near the river offer a great view, concrete ramada, picnic table and some electric, but no individual water hookup. The small community center loans books and movies and provided a great weekly ranger talk. Tomorrow there is a $1.50 ranger walk in the desert hills nearby. The hiking in the hills nearby is mostly uphill through fairly treeless desert hills. While on the hikes you get great views of the Colorado River. A lot of campers bring small kayaks. The park offers some small sandy beaches and a small swimming area.

This State Park is located on one of the most beautiful stretches of the Colorado River below the Parker Dam. Sandy beaches traverse the park which is spotted with plenty of shade trees. There are plenty of activities available including volleyball, a playground and campfire. There are fees for day use and camping, but this is a beautiful location to spend some leisure time.

I traveled here in February. The weather was a mild 80 degrees during the day and high 50's at night. The river was beautiful and beaches clean. The park was maintained well, however I didn't visit the rest rooms or showers as I was in a fifth wheel. The park is dated a little and the facilities could use a little care. I was unable to visit the arcade or restaurant-store mentioned in another review as it was closed and looks dated. The park is about two-thirds full and filled on the weekend, except the brick cabanas right at the beach you can rent overnight, parking right near. Boat ramps are available too and the noise of the boats is load at times, but not often this time of year. I stayed four days.

We love to come into the Buckskin arcade and get food and ice cream for the kids. But my goodness do you think you could sink a few bucks into the arcade? Would it kill you to update the place a little? 90% of the games don't even work and i'm not making that up. It's ridiculous. Pizza is pretty good and that's the only thing that keeps us coming back.

What an awesome state park! The Colorado River is on three sides and you have lots of trees as well. This is a pretty spacious park and the staff is friendly. Pretty level sites as well.

This was incredible! When I started out I wasn't sure where I was going and sort of arrived here. The first thing that struck me was the natural and austere beauty of Sonoran Desert. The Colorado River offers a stark contrast to the desert. The park offers something for everyone. There is boating, camping, beaches and hiking. I chose to do some hiking. The trails take you over the highway and up into the mountains. While the elevation gain is not great there are some fairly strenuous stretches. I minimally explored the Mine Trail off the Loop Trail. I did come across one mine, it was interesting but doubled back. The trails afford a spectacular view of the river, the activities and the mountains surrounding the area. It was a perfect day to enjoy any or all of it, sunny and upper 60's. Definitely worth the time, trip and $10. entrance fee.

Spent a few nights in park on way South. Very full and found only spot right next to sewage treatment area. Well kept park. Lots of grass & mature trees along river. Nice desert hikes originating in park. Another RV park right across Colorado River on CA side. River so obviously lots of boats & jet skies but not a major detract ion. Would stay gain.

Lots of great campsites with shade trees. Bathrooms with showers and plenty of hot water. Friendly park service employees. Close to the river. Will stay here again!

We spent an afternoon here playing by the water and having a picnic with our two-year-old daughter and four-year-old son. We loved the view of the river and rock. Wasn't very busy in March, so the river didn't have a lot of traffic.

Wonderful place, we visited twice, and would go back again if we could. We met some wonderful people there. Organised events were fantastic, including the fireside evening, and the guided walk. Great place, great staff and volunteers, keep up the great work and maybe 'll see you again some day. Thank you Buckskin xx

First time we had ever been to this area. Found the campsite very clean. Some spots are larger than others and some have water views and some don't. We did get a good spot, but also was very selective when we chose it. The good spots are taken way ahead of time, so you need to book months out if you can. Since it was passed the busy season, the store/bar was closed the whole time. The area offers lots to do. There are little restaurant/bars all along the river you can get to by boat or car. Also a casino nearby, and a golf course. Lake Havasu City is also very close to run into town for an afternoon. We will go back. We were in a motorhome.

My husband and I booked a "cabana" campsite right next to the Colorado River for two nights in October. We were on a camping holiday and supposed to be touring the national parks, but the government shutdown changed our plans. So, we booked in here because it was on the river and we thought it would be peaceful and pretty. It wasn't peaceful. I will give it pretty.Unless you are totally into power boats -- and by that I mean the ear-splittingly loud race boats favoured by the NASCAR crowd -- do not stay here. The boats roared by non-stop from 7am until dark. I thought that nothing could be more obnoxious than jet skies, but I was wrong. Sleeping under a busy freeway overpass would have been quieter. We went hiking on one of the days -- walked three miles inland -- and we could still hear the roar. There was one small saving grace: the dark Arizona skies are gorgeous. If you like star gazing, the view is pretty good from the park. Kudos to the state park staff for keeping the grounds and facilities clean. We won't be back. Ever.
