Great picnicking, low-impact hiking, dog park attached. Additionally, the old 1950's, ranch-styled farmhouse houses a wonderful pottery studio and small gallery. You can take a group to do a piece of art there with instruction for $15 per person. Friendly artisans always around.

The Roswell, GA Cherokee Memorial consists of 8 boulders with plaques telling the history of the GA Land Lottery and the Trail of Tears.

For the first time ever, the brand new Cherokee Memorial educates people that this area was once the southern part of their reservation in this part of Georgia. There are 8 boulders, each with a plaque telling the story of the Cherokee living here, in peace, then President Jackson ignored the Treaty, and had them removed(unprepared, no extra clothing, food, etc) which is known as the Trail of Tears. The Memorial, BTW, are actually the 8 boulders mentioned above, and are along the path that is along the Chattahoochee River within the Roswell Park on Riverside Drive, in Roswell, GA. The Memorial was approved by both the Chief in Oklahoma, and the Chief in North Carolina (the West Band, and the East Band), and The Trail of Tears. Please visit this. it is so important to know about the Cherokee, and to be able to walk where they walked before us.
