Coton Manor Gardens are brilliant; each season of the year there is something different to see--from the snowdrops and hellebores in February/early March, the bluebells in May, the rose in June, the herbaceous borders in July and August and the wildflower meadow. You will enjoy the wonderful gardens and the hospitality of the owners. There is a lovely cafe where you can enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch, and tea all homemade.

The gardens to see in the Northampton area. Regular visits through the season. Shop and cafe excellent as well.

This is a lovely intricate garden and it has a bit of everything to offer including outside seating for the cafe with a beautiful parrot. Two of the main attractions seem to be the flamingos and the bluebells.

Not expensive to go in but well worth a visit. Lovely gardens with perhaps the best show of Bluebells in the midlands if not in England, (two or three acres and millions of them in a woodland setting), spring flowers with the most delightful show of Wisteria in season. There are also Flamingos, an assortment of other birds wandering about as well and a small plant nursery next to a delightful cafe serving a whole range of goodies. Free parking close by and plenty of it.

Garden is on a slope so had to be careful with one of our number in a wheelchair and managed to wobble into a bush on the way down, but visited to bluebell wood, stood with the orange flamingoes and with efforts of three of us pushed our friend back up to the cafe area where we enjoyed a nice cup of tea and homemade cakes.

It is so refreshing to come back to Coton, our favourite garden in the area. The autumn colours of the trees and surrounding flowers made it different to see all the wonderful colours. We picked a sunny day which made all the difference. Again the tea and cake was brilliant. Roll on the spring.

On the whole I dont like gardens, but Coton Manor is the exception. You get the feeling everything is personally supervised and the staff really care. The gardens are well kept with labels (for dumbo's like me) and the bluebell wood beyond description. A reasonable car park and lots of plants to buy. The cafe area is mostly outside but if the weather is good really relaxing. Good range of home made cakes and sandwiches. I'll be back!.

Tucked to the south west of the A14 junction with M6/M1, this is a lovely stop off either before or after negotiating these busy roads. An hour will suffice to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the gardens and views, and take in some refreshments. If you have more time, even better. Loos are clean and fresh, there is a shop, and plants, many quite rare, can be bought.

My wife and I have been visiting this garden four or five times each year for several years, and have attended the gardening school for a couple of very good presentations. Our repeated visits speak for themselves. Coton is never less than relaxing and renewing, always a mine of ideas to try in our own small garden. We travel the 53 miles to get here as we have never been disappointed, either with the gardens themselves or the carefully prepared light lunches (mentioned by other reviewers) served by a friendly group of ladies. Suzy and Ian Pasley-Tyler and their garden staff are unfailingly patient and helpful when interrupted in their work by our questions about plants, planting, and problems.Other reviewers have described the variety, colour, and imaginative care that have been lovingly employed in the different borders and areas of the grounds. The shade garden along the downhill stream has been a special pleasure this year,as was the wildflower meadow until its annual mowing last month. Frankly,we are in love with this garden,so all our comments are utterly partial. Friends to whom we have recommended Coton have in every case come away delighted. Even driving through the rolling surrounding countryside to reach the Manor is a pleasure in its own right. Throughout the seasons there is enjoyable development in the planting schemes, and in our final visit of the year today it still looks wonderful.A real annual joy is the arrival of the reopening of Coton. I decided to write this review instead of my wife only because she is too besotted with our visits to be at all rational! Why anyone wants to create such a place and let us hordes in to ruin the private tranquility defeats me. But thank goodness they do.marvellous,wonderful,heavenly.

Visited 8 September and have never seen a garden with so much colour and interest. Obviously a garden loved by it's owners and gardeners working there. A real garden for those interested in plants rather than the modern 'concept designs' of today. The nursery was well stocked with plants seen in the garden, many more unusual and less well known varieties. The stableyard cafe was welcoming and had plenty to offer with light lunches and a selection of snacks. Everyone very friendly and helpful. A lovely few hours spent wandering, looking, sitting and enjoying. Will definitely go back next year earlier in the season to see what else is on offer. We only wished we lived nearer. (For evening meal before our journey back we ate at The Pytchley in West Haddon - a lovely choice which I have reviewed separately). Lovely day out in Northampton.

My previous visit was 8 years ago and this one was even more delightful. Plenty of beautiful borders artfully arranged with perennials, roses, clematis to offer the most elegant colour palettes. One can only say it is a most charming garden. Assorted water elements add interest throughout and a fascinating collection of fowl accompany one around the lower levels. A very lovely place !

This must be our sixth visit to these delightful gardens and again we enjoyed it immensely and therefore nothing less than 5 stars. In late August the garden was full of colour and a lot to take your attention and lead you from one part of the garden to another. What is very obvious, and becomes apparent immediately on entering, is the care and attention to planting. Colours are chosen with thought and plants are placed with love. The garden is on several layers so planning a visit you must be aware that there are steps and slopes to negotiate. This adds to the delight of discovery. We had a light lunch outside with Rodney the parrot within calling distance and a lovely, well presented, delicious lunch it was. No complaints. Another visit after lunch then tea and a slice of cake. Please visit this garden, it is well recommended, you will not be disappointed. Well cared for and well run.

My wife has been wishing to visit here for some time and as the weather was good off we went. The gardens are easy to find using their directions, although you will not see 'official' signage until quite close to the location. There is an ample car park, and also facilities to drop off disabled guests at the door.Admission was £7.00 with a .50p discount for pensioners and with this you get a free guide. There is a café serving very nice home made style food, with a courtyard eating area, and very modern and clean toilets. There is a large nursery where you can buy plants and also see Rodney the Mackaw. Watch out for his beak, it does warn you!The gardens are beautiful, with wide sweeping borders, a water garden, an orchard area, a woodland walk and indeed in May a Bluebell, woodland walk. The flowers are inspirational and the whole area is full of exotic ducks, chickens and indeed flamingos.Their is plenty of seating where one can admire the views, and many secluded spots to get away from it all.One point, the garden does not open until twelve o'clock so beware turning up early as their is little to do until the gates open.Highly recommended.

Loved the gardens - very good time of year to go in spite of showers the day we visited - beautiful pink flamingos in the garden - what a surprise!Lovely food - reasonable priced but only stable or outdoor eating areas (ie - not very warm environment!)

A lovely surprise! Absolutely stunning gardens with water features, ducks, fowl, two beautiful flamingoes and a parrot against the background of a lovely old manor house. It was a delight to wander round and see the different borders, all in bloom in gorgeous contrasting colours. There is plenty of seating on the route but might be a bit difficult for pushchairs/prams/wheelchairs. Car parking across the road with steps down but special parking arrangements for elderly and disabled. Lovely little cafe serving lunches and light refreshments and a small shop. A particular feature was the large nursery selling a whole range of plants - it certainly had plenty of customers! Rather surprisingly, the gardens aren't open on Sundays except in April and May. Will definitely return to view the gardens in a different season.
