We took our son for a stroll in the park and, alight lunch. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu choice, fresh food and good service. It served the purpose we required and Xo would recommend a visit

In the summer a real treat...lots of wide open parkland to walk in with plenty of trees and small wild-life. Two lakes with plenty of water birds. A very large safe playground for children, well stocked and tended gardens, various caged birds to look at and a very pleasant cafe next to a bandstand that has live bands playing at weekends. There is also a museum and when open a beautiful church that many couples would give anything to get married in.A little sparse as regards gardens in the winter, but still pleasant and well worth a visit.Plenty of free street parking next to it as well.

So pleased that our forefathers had the common sense to put aside large parks for the following generations. Spend a day in Abington Park. Walks, sport and play ground for kids and grown ups. Most weekends there is music in the park and the cafe is always worth a visit. A visit to the church should be included but if you just want the exercise then walk round the periffery of the park, about an hour and enjoy people watching.

We had a great walk in the park but found that there was a lot of mud on the paths and around the children's play area. The paths seemed in a fairly poor condition as did the toilets. It would be good to see the council taking better care of such a great asset.

Hasn't changed at all after 40 odd years! Was good to go back (from Hungary) and reminisce on my childhood spent close to there.

So called 'jewel in the crown' of Northampton. Northampton people are very lucky to have a large park like this so close to the town centre. It's my personal favourite place for all seasons (I got married in the church here, have lived nearby and have been a frequent visitor for nearly 40 years). I have so many happy memories of time spent at this park. People come here to - jog/cycle, walk their dog, listen to music in the bandstand during the summer months, play tennis/bowls/table tennis/football/fish, drink/eat in the cafe, go to church, visit the museum, look at the birds/peacock in the aviary, read, family BBQ, play in the playground, use the fitness equipment, use the boating lake for model boats, geocaching, eat ice cream etc etc etc!

I can remember my Parents bringing me to the park when I was a child and I enjoyed it then as I do now. No matter what season there is always something to see and enjoy. One review mentioned litter but this is not something I have noticed. Recently visited the park for Christmas Carols which was lovely and there is often something going on for visitors to enjoy. The pathways make pushing a wheelchair or pram easy as at this time of the year the grass is quite waterlogged and you may need boots on a wet day. Parking is easy and the cafe is well worth a visit.

This park offers a lot but is abused by those that use it. Litter lies on the floor everywhere, the park is crying out for someobe to love it and keep it clean.

What a little find this cafe in the park was. Loved the atmosphere outside and in,a proper welcoming place with food drinks and ice cream , a view of the park and bandstand and stones throw away from a little bird Avery. Lots of open space for kids to play or just to edit and have a natter with friends, you can have wine or beer ,or just a hot drink. Staff friendly, everywhere clean and tidy. Although did not eat there the food smelt and looked very inviting.

This is a super park not that far from the town centre and can be reached via Billing Road or Wellingborough Road. It's a lovely green space with lots to do and something for everyone - from relaxation to sports, a playground area and a lake and plenty of seasonal events (including "conker" collecting in the autumn!) Nip across the road to the museum - that's worth a visit too!

A great park, with lots of space to play sports, let the kids burn off energy, go for a walk, have a picnic, enjoy the ponds, go fishing, and enjoy some of the many events that are held within the park during the year.

Great psrk in the middle of a busy town, play areas very good, lots of areas to play football, cricket frisby and just run around Ducks and pigeons to feed along with woodland walks including poo sticks if you feel adventurous enough Always an ice cream to be had

The best spot in Northampton to enjoy a beautiful summers day. Weekends make for a great family day and to see people making the most of such a beautiful open space is wonderful. The options are endless. This park is the heart of the community and a great place to meet and greet. Autumn the park is at its best watching the seasons change here is a treat. Whatever the season I can always find a reason to head to Abington park. Happy memories

This is the jewel in the crown of Northampton's public parks. Lots of things for everyone to do. Children's play areas, with adventure courses, lakes, football pitches, and cross the road to the old house where they have a museum, Bowls and a small aviary.
