I had no idea of the importance that viterbo played in papal history other than the fact that one pope moved there from the Vatican. An imposing cathedral that contains some really interesting artefacts. The walk to the cathedral is down some very higgledy pigeddly winding streets which give off a medieval almost sinister air. Take your time and let your imagination run wild. It felt strange sight- seeing something that plays an active part in people's lives.

Very beautiful architecture. Along the walk towards the Palazzo, there are Etruscan structures - don't miss these. There are signs that tell you about them. Quite a lot of history related to the Vatican here. A must-see when in Viterbo.

I think one one best place to see in Viterbo. The way to go Palazzo de Papi also very good. You are walking in a middle age street. Walk slowly and enjoy.

The view from the square across Viterbo was wonderful, the tracery that remains is a joy to behold especially if you like architecture. Well worth a visit

The Cathedral is beautiful, inside and out and having an English speaking guide was a plus. Having been raised Catholic, I was blown away by the history. In Catholic school, I was never made aware that Viterbo was once the seat of the Papacy much less the site of the first Conclave. The Palazzo is a MUST SEE when visiting Viterbo.

This is must to be seen, especially church with medieval oil painting. Not worse than St. Peter Cathedral treasury and without any guard. Like it!

Posto meraviglioso, trasuda storia e cultura.Se riuscite a non farvi investire dai soliti incivili motorizzati, non potete perdervi Piazza San Lorenzo e la sua incredibile cornice storica ed artistica.Sfido chiunque a trovarne uno parimenti affascinante, specie di sera illuminato dolcemente e soffusamente.Un "must", da non perdere.

Sembra di essere tornati nel medio evo, con un senso avvolgente di nostalgica malinconia. Davvero uno spettacolo interessante.

Non aspettatevi il palazzo di Avignone. La visita è resa interessante dalla guida che con molta passione racconta la storia dei papi a Viterbo.

suggestivo l'esterno. Internamente si visitano due saloni, non troppo suggestivi...c 'e' molto di meglio in giro..

Viterbo, una città antica con palazzi e chiese dalle storie ed evoluzioni affascinanti. Le informazioni turistiche sono poco accattivanti, ma presenti. I panorama dal palazzo così come in vicino duomo sono meravigliosi. Consigliati!
