Specialise in making big reds with grapes from areas such as McLaren Vale. Since my last visit a few years ago my tastes have become a bit more refined. Although the wines are "huge" they have, I believe, some residual sugars remaining, which gives them a sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste, rather than a dry clean finish which I prefer. Some people would love this sweetness but it is not my taste and I also find the wines VERY MUCH over priced for what you are getting. I have found huge dry reds from McLaren Vale at one quarter the price of Piggs Peake.

Thank you to Robert and the staff at this quirky little winery. I didn't know there were so many ways to use pigs in naming wines. ... Like pigs blood. This is a fun little winery where we enjoyed the tour, helping with hand pressing the grapes and tasting from the barrels. It's a must on your tour.

Piggs Peake wines are excellent and the winery is fun and friendly to visit.Their names are brilliant : Port is called Pork, the wine club is called the Swine Club etc. The wines are not cheap, but brilliant.

Amazing sweet wines with cute piggy names. The pigscato (moscato) and boartrytis (botrytis) are to die for. As is the Chardonnay. Definitely worth a visit.

I love this winery! Been visiting this winery for years and the hospitality and service from Piggs Peake is immaculate. I would recommend to avoid the busy times if you want to taste test everything they can offer. It is a boutique and smaller winery.

I've been a member of Piggs Peake for almost 10 years now and always enjoy their quirky side, with many wine styles to tempt you (the Pigbusco is a great favourite) and their excellent benefits (13 bottles to the dozen) and generous tastings as well as good old fashioned Australian friendliness and generosity.

My spouse and I found the wines at Piggs Peake to be excellent, especially the Reds - the werewolf and old macdonalds are spectacular. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Our visit was topped off with a visit to the vats and barrel store with the winemaker to taste some of the upcoming vintages prior to bottling - a real treat

Found this winery to be one of the few to be open on New Year's Day and how lucky was this for us! We enjoy wine tasting at venues different from those in our home state and found Piggs Peake wines with their pig themed names to be very, very enjoyable. Helpful advice from our personable host and we left with our purchase happy to recommend to others!

we found this winery by accident it was the first one we called in on and what a find! Not often I'm left with a longing to go back and get more. We purchased several wines and savoured them during our travels. Excellent tastings and knowledge, learned a lot.

This winery produces some excellent wines. It is one of the friendliest and the very knowledgeable staff are there to help not just sell some wine. There is always something new, some new grape variety to try which highlights that the winemaker is always pushing the barriers. There are a number of reliable favourites which are produced whenever there is acceptable quality fruit to help keep up your cellar. Garry, Linda, Steve and the team are fantastic. don't miss this winery when you go to the Hunter!!

first stop on our organised afternoon of tastings and Dave helped us navigate through the list of pig themed wine names. Quirky, relaxed but clearly passionate and knowledgeable sums up Piggs Peake and Dave. we tasted a lot, learnt a lot, saw the back of their lot (extension to the cellar being built) and came away entertained and wiser. Definitely recommended on any tour of Hunter Valley cellar doors and one in the sty for some of the stuffier establishments.

Our friends had raved about Piggs Peake and we had tried one of there wines which was fab. So our first stop when visiting the Hunter was to Piggs Peake..After several hours, much tasting and then a tour out the back to taste some barrelled wines we were sold. We joined the Wine Club and left with lots of bottles. The guys were great and very helpful and knowledgeable. A cool experience indeed

We stayed at a BnB which had complimentary fortified verdelho by Piggs Peake and our interest was piqued. So we stopped in, noting the big happy fat pig statue out the front and went inside for some of the most enjoyable wine tasting of our long weekend. The reds are BIG and the 'hampagne' is my second favourite Australian sparkling wine. We joined the wine club on the way out. When you're onto a good thing, don't waste time right? We got the tour out back where the barrels are, getting wine from a pipette squirted into our glasses straight from the barrel. Can't wait for our next hunter valley weekend! We'll be back.

We liked this winery although a little crowded when we visited. We especially enjoyed the Merlot (which was a surprise as we normally drink shiraz) and the fortified Verdelho, which we bought. Also loved the wine glasses, which I now own. Staff were very good and attentive. Would recommend a visit.

Stopped in because Piggs Peake Winery was recommended for their red wines. We started with a few tastings which were pretty awesome then got invited to try some of there new wines from the barrel and had a general chat about things.
