As there were no quality eateries in Christina Lake, our family surmised that such a nice golf course (albeit small) would certainly have a quality restaurant attached. Giant mistake. The atmosphere was more that of a church buffet, where one is on their own, than a fine dining experience. We waited and watched as the waitress seated others (their personal friends) and attended to them before us. The bread was cold, and we were instructed to "just go help yourselves" for the Mother's Day Dinner. That was the ultimate in tacky, to find that their Mother's Day event was in effect a self serve greasy spoon style buffet. Waitress only came by once, to bring our drinks, and one last time, to collect her money. YUCK.
Took the kids for a round. For a par 3, the shape of the fairways and greens was impressive! Nice mature growth on this course.
Visited during our vacation in August 2014 with 2 Canadian friends who we were treating to an evening meal. Booked our table a day in advance. On our arrival we were not greeted with `Hello`, `Good evening` or any sort of welcome - just `Got a booking ?`We were told where our table was & NOT shown to it.5 before we were asked if we wanted drinks.Another 10 after the drinks before Julie took our order. After 15 minutes I asked for some water which came quite quickly. When we had been at our table for 1 hour ( we should have got up & left after waiting such a time)I asked Julie if there was some problem in the kitchen, to which she answered with a look that could kill `We ARE busy !`The food arrived at our table within 2 minutes!! - together with Julie's dirty thumb-print on the rim of my plate! The food had obviously been prepared & put on the plate some time ago. as all the fries were wilted & shrunk & not very hot, the batter covering the chicken was hard & over cooked. Even the Cole slaw was WARM because it had been on the hot shelf so long.Lo & behold there was no salt & pepper with the condiments!
Lots of fun and great food! The whole family enjoyed the day golfing and at the end we had a super meal at the Duelling Oaks Restaurant.
We had occasion to golf the course a number of times this past season. The most memorable was golf in the Morning and the Wine and Chees in the evening! Fantastic fun, great wine and food. Recommend to anyone interested in a great wine experience.
We went in and the menu was average as was the food. I felt the dinner items were quite expensive for the quality.
Well run operation that we enjoy going to every year that we are camping near by. I have always found the greens and fairways to be in good shape. No real long holes for the long shots, but my wife and mother in law can pull out their driver on a couple of holes. Nice place to spend an hour or two.
