We were able to visit the beach on a few occasions during our stay. We never had a problem getting a spot to put our stuff down and enjoy the beach. It is great to play in with the water being warm & relatively shallow, which is great for little ones to play in. There are quite a few picnic benches along the shoreline for people to enjoy their meals while enjoying the park. There is lots of parking.
Sandy and shallow beach, great for children, how ever anything over waist deep is infested with Eurasian Milfiol . Lots of picnic tables and shady places, flat walk to parking. Too bad the best beaches in Christina Lake are private, the so called community beach is a swamp, so this one is the only alternative if you don't want to make the drive and hike in at Texas Point.
We walked the 15 minutes from our RV park to the Christina Lake Provincial Park and found a nice and quiet place. When we came the parking lot was barely empty and only a few people have been on the beach. The place offered a lot of picnic tables, bathrooms and a great view into the mountains.
Stopped here on a hot calm weekday, met some friends and kayaked . Water was a bit grungy in spots but very warm. Great beach, bathroom and picnic tables
Drunken people acting like morons here. Seems to be an epidemic in this area. Swampy and muddy from excessive rain. Wouldn't feel safe to bring kids here due to the open drunkenness and drug use. Avoid at all costs. Castlegar and Nelson are much better, however avoid the Castlegar Canadian Tire, the rude and unprofessional attitude there is unreal. They have employees standing around, following customers around the store like cops. Who can shop with that?
