Without just watching. No sieves or foot entrapment hazards. Little flat water, so you're bouncing and getting wet most of the time, with a just enough break on the conveyor back to the start.
We were a group of four in our 60's celebrating a 69th birthday. After our very enjoyable experience with Adam, an excellent guide, Adam asked if we had always been risk takers. :) There really wasn't that much of a risk - and the rafting was vigorous and highly enjoyable. This facility is a hidden gem, definitely worth going out of the way to experience.
This whitewater rafting company offers thrills and squeals on man-made lake in beautiful area. Expert guides make it worry-free. Our guide, Danny, kept everyone entertained and safe as he steered through mutliple rapids, varying each trip around the well-designed course. At pointson the course anyone interested could jump into the water. Our 3-generation family emerged from the adventure wet but happy. Tip: Options for car keys and valuables are lockers (wear something with a zip pocket to store the key), or your locked car (leave your keys in the office). Be prepared to tip the guide (we had no idea how much) and choose between buying particular pics or the whole package. A highlight of our visit to Deep Creek Lake!
Great for the kids (10 & 13) knowing no underwater rocks, etc. being man-made! Kristin was an outstanding guide!! Very knowledgable & patient, got us comfortable enough to "raft surf" in the whitewater eddies for the majority of the time! We had plenty of time to raft & even though a bit pricey...was well worth the cost! Kids & I couldn't get enough, fantastic!! Don't forget to tip a great guide!! We can't wait to go back! Would've liked the computers/printers to work, so we bought the USB of photos instead.
Great place to kayak to improve your paddling skills and safe environment to learn a new sport. Fun to paddle alone or with friends and a great bargain if you own your equipment. $20/25 a day to get an exhausting workout at ASCI May thru October. Repeat customer year after year since they opened.
If you have never seen an artificial river this is a must. It is entertaining watching how they fill it. This is a safe guided way to try whitewater rafting. Nice locker rooms and showers available.
My friends and I (6 total) were pleasantly surprised when a friend suggested that we go to ASCI to white water raft on their elaborate man-made course. None of us had been there but saw it before by The Wisp. Once we all got into our wet suits and got the rest of our protective equipment, which was all in good shape, we met our rafting guide Tom. Tom was a very friendly, knowledgable guide who navigated us safely through the course several times. May I add that some of us were a little apprehensive to try this but we all completed it safely.I would encourage all adventurous people (young and old) to give this a try when in town. The course isn't very long but you can go around multiple times or you can not. Besides having a mandatory guide in the boat, there are also people stationed around the course that I presume are lifeguards. They also take photos of your group which are available for hefty fee.Overall this was a neat and memorable experience that I would recommend to others!
I took a group of friends there for a weekend, did the rafting, the duckies twice, and the bodysurfing. We were exhausted but what an awesome trip!
Would definitely recommend. I went with my boyfriend and my two sons (12 and 14). My 12 year old was very nervous and our boat guide was great in getting him to warm up to the experience. It was so exciting but yet you felt safe b/c it was a controlled course. We left with a lifetime of memories, and they captured them in photos on a USB ($35 extra). I wouldn't do if you have any medical conditions, but you don't have to be the most physically fit person either. Can't wait to do it again. Worth every penny (note rates are cheaper during the week than on the weekends). Ask for Ben - great guide!
Good place to go just to see what's it all about, or to get into a raft and have a fun time in the whitewater. Our guide Ben was lots of fun, our group had a great time.
Four teenagers in our group of two families did the white water rafting earlier this week. Their ages were 14 to almost 17. They really enjoyed it and for two of them, it was a totally new adventure. They said their guide was really good. However, for the price, it was expensive. We went on a Monday and it was $55 per person (Fri - Sun it is $68!!) Plus you have to wear closed toe shoes, so if you don't have them or don't want to get your own shoes soaked, you have to rent shoes for $5.50. It is only a two hour time frame, and 30 minutes of that is instructions and safety info, leaving them about 90 minutes of rafting. Personally, I think $60 (total per person with shoes) is a lot for two hours, being that other rafting trips I found are about this price for a four hour time period. However, I understand this is a controlled (man-made rapids) environment with a guide, so it is different than going on a river where there are more variables. I guess you have to consider what you want and prefer. There is a coupon given to you when you check in, that you get 50% off a second trip if the SAME people come back within the week. I have to say, the kids really enjoyed it, I just don't think I would pay for it again if we went back to the area:)
For a man made white water rafting course, this place rocks! just do it! We felt very safe as it is not very deep. Guides are wonderful and well trained. Will do it again!
tubing park was fun and seemed to be well run. Also went skating (small) and the alpine coaster (long line/short ride). Good diversion from the slopes.
White water rafting is adventurous and I will strongly recommend for a fun and exciting family activity.
I took my wife and 2 kids (8 and 10) here. Everything was very well organized. The weather was a bit cool and overcast but the water is heated so everything was just fine. The guide talks the whole time and takes the time to (1) explain everything in detail and (2) make you laugh. I think we did 3 runs where the guide gave us greater challenges with each run. At the end of the last run the guide let us fall off the boat into the "pool" and have a little swim. We had an absolute blast and would happily do it again.
