Stop in, it's free and rich in history. It is close to the Arkansas Arts Center so stop in before or after. We found a place to pull over then we walked around looking at all the old headstones and sculptures.A good place to spend 30 minutes or more depending on your interest.
Wonderful for history buffs. Very enjoyable. Visiting in the fall is beautiful. Lots of old trees that have beautiful color
This is a great place to visit if you are interested in history. Read about the cemetery on the internet before you visit. Around Halloween a local group gives tours and it is fascinating to hear the stories they tell. It was much more interesting than I expected.
We were visiting Little Rock and friends at home suggested we check out this historic cemetery. We didn't think much about it until we got there and found it was located a block and a half from where we were staying. We spent about 30 minutes walking around in sweltering heat looking at the historic family plots and headstones. I suppose if you are an Arkansas native you would recognize some of the names; we didn't but it was worth a half hour of our time.
Most anybody who has been anybody important in Little Rock history is buried here.A place that inspires reverence with a small touch of spooky.
We just came back from this cemetery. It was a nice quick visit. It would probably be better with a tour guide, but it was still nice to walk around. We were in and out in about 30 minites.
It wasn't designed in a manner to locate graves very efficiently. We called for a tour but it has to be booked 2 weeks in advance. It could be a great place to educate tourist about Little Rock but it is more like a walk in cemetery without any historical content being present.
It is in the middle of a neighborhood. Parking on the street. We were there at the end of the day and tired, so didn't stop.
Parkview High School does a great job every October dressing up as some of Arkansas past residents. Great for a fun night of learning about our ancestors~
I really love this place. It is so peaceful. The flowers bloom in spring and surround the beautiful gravestones, creating a serene backdrop for a picnic or a lazy tour of the grounds. This cemetery is full of history and is a great place to spend a day outside. It's free, so it's great if you are on a budget and need something to do.
Beautiful and well kept cemetery with grave site inscriptions that give you an overview of Little Rock's long history and involvement in the Civil War.
This is one of the most incredible historic sites in Little Rock and possibly in the state of Arkansas. The number of founding fathers and supporters of the state of Arkansas who are buried here are remarkable. Most of the grave markers are large and beautiful. A great place to get a piece of history for Little Rock and Arkansas.
wondering around in a cemetery may seem somewhat Macabre. However don't knock it until you visit. This is well worth your time I promise. If you are in Little Rock during Halloween week it is a real treat.
We go to this event every year. It is wonderful to see young people protraying the colorful individuals buried at Mount Holly Cemetery, but only for one night per year. Park View Magnet High School Students are amasing. All should attend.
After staying at the Empress, was very interested in seeing this cemetery. Hornibrook, who built the Empress, was the fist monument you see as you enter. Be prepared to walk through this cemetery as you can not drive down most aisles.
