The fourth stop on our Arkansas wine trail and it was worth the stop. Their local and boutique varieties were great tasting.

The last stop of our visit of all four wineries in Altus, and this one was the "quirkiest" (but in a good way), A very small tasting room that was full with people when we visited, and the wine sampling was plentiful and free. Many good wines here, including probably the largest selection of fruit wines in the area. The stories shared by the owner were great, especially those concerning the long history of wine-making associated with Mount Bethel and her family. Came away with a couple of nice bottles of wine, including a muscadine wine that was very tasty. Make sure you visit all four wineries in the town, but this one is one of the top two.

We had visited three other wineries in Altus and almost decided to pass up Mount Bethel. So glad we did not! The daughter-in-law of the owner was our hostess, and she was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely happy to tell us about the history of Altus and the winery while providing us samples of Mount Bethel's tasty wines. It was a pleasure to have someone so happy to share the local history with us. This place is a good place to visit.

The ladies who own and run Mt. Bethel are very interesting and friendly. Ask for their red wine vinegar. It is absolutely wonderful. You will want to take extra home as gifts.

This quaint little winery was a real treat and a must stop on a day trip from Fayetteville. The fruit wines were excellent and what Arkansas wines are all about. The staff is always nice and very helpful.

My sister and I went on a getaway to try out all the wineries in the area. All of them had their good points and this one was the very best! Peggy Post gave us a generous tasting of several wines and filled us in on the most interesting histories of the area and the wine making. We thought it was neat that all the wine folk are related. Even the newcomers have married into the old winery families! She's related to the Post family down the road and the other big wine families. The Mount Bethel wine is different from some of the others because it's not blended. Their fruit wines are pure fruit wines...the muscadine and blueberry were especially excellent and true to their fruit taste.

Went on a girls winery weekend & We absolutely loved this winery. The fact that it was family owned, & Linda, the great granddaughter gave us a great tour, and the history of the place was fascinating. Did I mention the wine? My credit card was crying by the time I left. They were delicious, & so many that I loved. You can taste as many as you want, and the portions to taste were very generous. Not like some of the others where you couldn't even get enough to taste. When you pull in, you think, hmmm, not so much, but it was so much more than we ever expected. Very, very quaint. Lovely little gift area also. Highly recommend.

We visited this winery after tasting very tart wine up the road. We didn't expect much but were pleasantly surprised. We liked every wine we tasted and enjoyed the historic tasting room, as well as the interesting discussion. We can't wait to go back!

I've visited Mount Bethel winery several times. Unfortunately, this tasting and consequently my purchasing was cut short due to my desire to escape the saleslady's political rant.

I have only been to Mount Bethel once, but I can not wait to go back! Their wine was delicious, the staff was very accomodating, and the atmosphere was very quaint. This is the smallest of the wineries that I have visited in the Altus area, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in charm. I absoloutely love the White Muscadine wine!

Bethel is a true family operation located on the family farm, right behind their house. Tasting room is built into a hill which was their original celler. Small but loaded with character, in more ways than one might expect. Our host was one of the family and has an interesting view on many, many subjects plus she really knows her wine. We had a good time and tasted some ok wine. Nothing that will win gold in San Fran but very good for the grapes they can grow here. Stop at each winery in town (there are four) to get a good idea of the best wines AR has to offer.

The tasting started out okay ! But then the lady started complaining about politics !!! Not what we came for !!! We like dry wines and did buy a case even after being constantly insulted. About our thoughts on anything!! The lady was a family member but not the family member that should be standing in front of the customers

This place feels like you're in a cave; very interesting. The staff are family and have been in the business for many years. They are knowledgeable not only about their wines but the history. It makes an interesting tasting.

This is a true family owned business. What a pleasant surprise to us to be invited in like we were neighbors! The lady (unfortunately I cannot remember her name) was as sweet as could be. She had so much information to share with us that what we thought would be a few minute stop turned in to at least an hour. Great place! Don't miss it!
