On a beautiful cool day, this trail was just lovely. We only walked a few miles, and met a lot of bikers which is a great way to do it. From benches and wooden swings, there were great spots to sit and take a break, as well as photo ops. On the side of the trail that we did not visit was a butterfly exhibit which we will definitely go to see. On a summer day, this would be very HOT, so bring water.

There are literally miles of paved trails in this trail system. All are well marked on a map which u can pick up at any trailhead. Along the way, you see many birds, armadillo, maybe even a mama alligator w her babies. We ran a 10k and never left the trails. They wind around past the sports complex, out to the beach, or to the state park, where you can take a break at the wildlife museum there. Great place to run, walk or bike. Wide enough for passing .and, there is a bathroom and water fountain along the way.

Drive over to nature trail and see what Orange beach looked like sixty years ago. It's a great place run and walk and see some wildlife that calls Orange beach home.

Bicycles can be rented nearby. Thr trails are well marked and can accommodate walkers and bicyclists. There are several lenghths of paths that wind through swamp and forests alike. We saw a momma alligator and her babies. A beautiful butterfly garden provides picnic canopies for enjoying the day.

We biked this trail as a family, and were lucky enough to see an alligator with babies on her back, as well as an armadillo. The trail is wide, clean, and most of all we felt safe the entire time. I would recommend it for joggers, walkers and bikers.

Great place to take your dog for a walk! There is a bathroom and drinking fountain about 1.5 miles from the Catman Road entrance.

Beautiful for walking and riding bike! Enjoyed the scenery and had a great time walking with my friends. I love that it's right here in our backyard and easy to get to.

Good to get a little exercise while on vacation. Not strenuous and would be good for kids. Hoped (kind of) to see an alligator but saw a snake instead! Also saw a coyote right before we turned into the parking area but none during the ride. If you are into geocaching there are some here, wish we would have thought about that before the ride. Lots of friendly people out this morning including the park staff.

Beautiful area, easy bike ride. The path is very shady and smooth. We saw deer, snakes, butterflies, and more. We will definitely ride again.

Beautiful trails in which nature has been well preserved while still introducing paved paths for our observation. We saw butterflies the size of your hand, an alligator and it's baby, and multiple varieties of plant life. We really enjoyed biking and running the trails. My only advice would be take water, I only saw one fountain.

We live fairly close to Orange Beach, Alabama and we absolutely love the Back Country Trail. It is used by both pedestrians and bikers, but we prefer to ride our bikes. The whole trail is free of vehicles. It is paved and winds through brush and trees. Very scenic, quiet, safe and peaceful. The round trip is about 12 miles and includes some gentle hills. The city of Orange Beach has produced a real gem. Such a great way to get exercise and feel in touch with Nature.

these trails are all over gulf shores and they are excellent.our hotel was located right next to a state trail called coyote crossing. My Two dogs and I hopped on the trail and walked for two miles down nice paved lanes and saw bikers, and runners and walkers of all ages. the view was beautiful with thick wooded trees, green grasses and nice landscaping. the trails all intersect and you can go as far or as little as you want.great way to get exercise for the two legged or four legged traveler.

Well paved with lots to see and some shade. Not much refreshments so bring your own. The staff is helpful and maps are available!!

What you would expect in an urban state park or city park. Winds through some inland ponds and small swampy areas. Not a lot of wildlife when we visited, but did see an alligator. I think I would classify this as more of an exercise trail than a backcountry hiking trail.
