tuscumbia railroad depot museum

Tuscumbia itself is a small southern town that always holds a dear place in my heart. That is where I spent some of the happiest years of my childhood. The railroad Museum wasn't there then, but it is a good place to go now. If you love RR memorabilia the you should stop by. My family was RR people, so I like it, and me dad contributed a clock to it.

The depot was a great venue for the wedding that I attended. Although, I believe the bride selected her own caterer and decorator for the event.

It's ok as part of the overall history of the area, but other than one old diesel engine and a few cars, there's not that really that much to see. Hopefully over time more can be added.

If you are a railroad buff as many people are then this is a must see. If you like history it goes well with a visit to Tuscumbia and as just a visit it is just OK. Great Photo ops.

We were in the area and happened to drive by this beautiful building and saw that it was an old Railway station, from 1888. We drove around the corner so I could take pictures. I got home and found out that it is actually a museum. I found online that it is open Tues.-Fri. from 9 am - 4pm, Sat. 10 am - 3 pm. Looking forward a visit the next time we are in Tuscumbia.
