sweenor's chocaolates

What more can you say about delicious, home made chocolate? I have shopped at Sweenor's for all of our special occasions, for over 30 years. Everyone has their favorites; chocolate covered cherries, peanut brittle, fudge, acorns, extra dark chocolate, turtles, chocolate bark, half dipped apricots, and the list goes on and on. Everything is wonderful. It's nice that some things never change - like the quality of Sweenor's chocolates!

When my husband and I were dating, he used to bring me Sweenor's chocolates. Our Sweenor's tradition continued after we married and I moved to RI.We frequent the Wakefield branch, where the candy is made on the premises. Their chocolate is excellent but unpretentious, and we are particularly fond of (or maybe I should write 'addicted to') their fruit jellies, and the butter crunch. The jellies are fruity and tart and the butter crunch has that sweet/salty thing going on.My family back in Canada loves their candy so much that I make sure to bring everyone's favorite when I visit. They also have cute RI souvenir novelties which are fun to bring home.No, you won't find chills or other exotic ingredients here, but their candy is top quality and always delicious.

We were travelling the Northeast to view the fall colors and to take in as many chocolate shops we could find along the way. Sweenor,s had a nice selection but nothing out of the ordinary. I like to find that special chocolate (with chili spice, ginger, whatever).The chocolate was good tasting and have enjoyed it along with the others we found along the way.
