Peaceful and easy walking. Loved looking at the beach homes and looking for beach shells and sea glass.
I like the peace & quiet & the benches up above the actual beach. Although, it is getting difficult for my husband to use the stairs. It is a clean beach. We always go in the morning & late afternoon.
Parking was a bit tricky, and it took us a bit to find it too. It was all worth it. It was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to. We loved it there.
We love Wells Beach and have gone for some twenty years. Little change--a wonderful motel right on the beach! Good restaurants, too. Good camping, nearby as well as nice condos available.
I have been visiting Wells Beach since I was a kid. The sand is great, the waves will give you a nice body surf. Be sure to check out the seafood and frozen custard at Forbes!
My husband and I have been to this area several times over the years. Wells Beach is a nice beach, with shops and restaurants nearby. Parking can be a challenge, but that is to be expected in the area. The beach was very close to where we were staying, which was good.
We had no problem with parking and the beach was big and beautiful! Near the beginning of the beach there is a rocky area where the water comes in and washes crabs into the crevices. It keeps children busy for a while. Hell, it kept me busy for a while.
Nice sand beaches. Very clean and inviting. We used to go to York Beach, but Wells offers bigger beaches and a wider variety of restaurants
great beach right in town, the summer is busy, but so what you are there for the sun and fun. Theres a parking lot so you can go to the beach for a while, do a little shopping have something to eat, you're in for some fun
Very quiet. Too cold to really walk this time, but we usually walk its 1 mile length daily when we visit during the summer.
For those of you who love to walk on the beach, this is a 2 mile walk one way!! I walk this beach as much as I can for my 4 mile "power walk"! I love looking at the waves, watching the seals play, the plovers running on the beach, not to mention the kids squealing and running around! You do have to time your beach visit to the tides. High tide about half the beach is under water. Low tide there is tons of beach, on the south side there are rock "islands" that appear. The kids and adults as well love to explore looking for crabs, lobsters, star fish and lots more. would recommend a visit, lots of sand and fun!! Lucky for me I live here!
We live in Kennebunk and we will go here to the beach most often. It can get packed though and there is a bit of a rip so watch the kids. There are facilities but it is a bit of a walk. I would bring a wagon to lug your stuff. If you sit close to the entrance, expect a larger crowd.
The day we went, there was a lot of people but we still had plenty of space, The beach was nicely kept and not rocky. The sand was smooth and the ocean was just as perfect.
We have been going to Wells for years and love this beach. It's always clean and there is a ton of room for all.Get there early and you will find free parking right next to the beach.
It has beautiful pristine sand, a "reef" during low tide for the kids and kids at heart and you feel safe there with your little ones.
