flagstaff lake scenic boat tours - private sails

What a great trip we had! Jeff was interesting and hospitable; the day on the lake couldn't have been more pleasant. Instead of just a sightseeing tour, it was an historic tour as well. This is a must-do while in the area.

I was expecting a 2-1/2 to 3 hour tour of Flagstaff Lake with the usual tourist feel of facts & figures. I was wonderfully surprised! Jeff Hinman greeted us warmly, at a boat launch, outside the town of Stratton/Eustis Maine. The boat launch is very easy to find with wonderful scenic views. The pontoon boat seats 12 but our journey consisted of 6 people with a family of 4 heading to the Maine Hut at the far side of the Lake. What my wife & I received was a tour of Bigelow Mountain range, history of a lost town, loons feeding, bald/golden eagles in flight & @ rest. Jeff wonderfully weaved his tale while the beauty of Maine was his canvas.
