We use to go to the drive-in on a regular basis when a new movie would show. Visiting the Glen was just like this and the smell of food at the concession stand brings back the old days.
I been going to the Glenn Drive Inn since I was a kid.Now I take my kids there. It is nice to watch 2 movies at a good price. You get to walk around or sit in or out of your car with the nice warm summer air and the stars shining in the sky.
Hadn't reviewed this business yet, but stopped in to say that my family and I make a yearly visit during the summer to the Glen Drive In Theatre, and have been for several years now. The value of two movies for cheaper than the cost of a mall cinema, accompanied with viewing the movies from the comfort of your own vehicle under the stars is amazing. Plenty of room for parking or putting out chairs and blankets. The vendor building is very retro and well kept, lots of snacks available, and of course fresh popped popcorn. We use our car radio for the movie sound, tuned into whatever station needed, but there is nothing like the charm of the original outdoor speakers. We love this place!
it was awesome looks like it does great business id love to go back the next time im in the area. get to watch two movies for less than the price of one in a normal movie theater
My wife and I have not been to a drive in theatre in over 20 years and to have an opportunity to visit a great childhood memory was fantastic. It also provided us as parents to give our kids an opportunity to do something unique and they loved it as well.
Glens Falls is truly blessed to have something as cool and irrefutably awesome as the Glen Drive In Theatre. In a time where most towns only reminisce about the drive-ins they once had, you can still roll up to the Glen all summer and catch one of two nightly double features. The snack bar takes you right back to the '50s, but again, the place is old-school, so you can practically buy and entire meal in there. This is a fantastic place to take the family or a date. Kind of like Glens Falls itself, this drive-in is a wonderful slice of the past, but still going strong.
When we were teenagers the drive in was the place to go and be seen. It was a meeting place for families and a relatively cheap form of entertainment for the whole family. They have two screens to choose from and a little snack bar that really isn't half bad. The memories the night brought up for us were amazing.
Very clean !!!! Great place for a family beach day !!! We plan to check out the camping very soon :)
Great bit of nostalgia. Saw "22 Jump Street" while visiting Lake George. finding the entrance to the correct screen was a little tricky, but I'm sure it was just us. Great way to spend an evening.
We had a great time. We watched two great movies for less than what it costs to see one. Snack bar is well priced and the property is well maintained. Make sure you remember the bug spray, the bugs are annoying if you sit outside.
We went with a few families. We packed the cars and brought pizza, desserts, and lots of fun! The kids had a great time. It is a very nice way to spend a relaxing evening:) easy access.. Go early as it does get very crowded:)
Love the Glen Drive In! You can sit in your car or sit in lawn seats- very safe! Great snacks at the snack bars. Good selections of movies.
It is what it is, but a little more. Glen Drive-in is fun. The choice of two screens was great. We live 15 minutes from a drive-in theater in southwestern New Hampshire and so I feel I can compare. The snacks were great. I didn't use the restrooms so cannot speak about their cleanliness. I highly recommend this drive-in theater.
We had such a great time here. You definitely cannot get this in the city. The movies are current, and if you stick around they usually have another movie playing after yours. Tip: You can tune in on the radio for the sound instead of trying to haul one of the speakers into your car. I wish I knew that prior to watching the movie. The station to tune into is posted at the ticket booth. I think its an AM station.
Is a local landmark has been here for decades is a little run down at entrance but a great value and good movie quality. An affordable family night out where can stretch out throw football get good snacks and watch two movies and not break the bank.
