bananas comedy club

Took my son and girlfriend to see Alonzo Bodden at Bananas Comedy Club at the Hotel for my son's birthday. Was not entirely surprised that the venue fit my gf's description of it being like someone's basement with a black sheet hung on a rod on the wall behind the performer. But hey, what else do you really need? Well, maybe an audience that doesn't include a couple of uncontrollable drunks. These guys were visibly drunk and talking loudly throughout the course of the set, so much so that Alonzo- a VERY patient guy- deftly tried to get them to shut up and show a little respect for everyone else. TWICE. The second time he asked why doesn't management get these guys out? Management's response? Leave them be and serve the drunks more drinks!One other note, while the waiting staff was fairly attentive, I was given someone's check and credit slip.A good place to catch some comedy north of NYC but don't necessarily expect too much of the audience or the staff.
