We stopped in Clermont at the winery on our way to or from Red Hook, and we're thrilled we did. Kimberly was lovely, funny, informative, and charming. She gave us tips on local restaurants. Besides all this, the wine is quite good. My wife, my friend, and I had trouble choosing which wine we wanted, so we chose several. The Chardonnay and the Riot were great, and the Pinot noir is fascinating; not run of the mill, and if you give it a moment, it reveals a very interesting side. Definitely worth looking into if you're interested in local wine.

We stopped in more or less on a whim, and stayed to enjoy the pleasant surprise--terrific upstate NY wine. On this rainy, cloudy day this was a ray of sunshine! We sampled both reds and whites, and ended with their cassis. Very impressive, and a step up for 'upstate wine.' Ended up buying two bottles, and I would absolutely recommend and return. Also, our host was knowledgable, friendly, and answered all our questions.

My boyfriend and I stopped by the Tousey Winery for a tasting this past weekend. We were alittle apprenshive when we first pulled up, but once we were inside, we were pleasantly suprised. They by far have some of the best tasting wines in the area. There was not one wine that we sampled that we did not like. Our host, Maria, was excellent. She gave us the freedom to pick the wines that we wanted to sample off the menu and made us feel extremely welcomed. Her engaging personality made us even buy a glass of wine and stick around! Overall, this was one of the best wine tasting experiences we have had so far! Their Rieslings are excellent and I will defintely visit their winery again!

My wife and I stopped by Tousey Winery for a tasting. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wines which are 80% estate bottled. The flavor, balance and finish was exceptional on all the wines we sampled. We sampled both reds and whites and two dessert wines and we liked them all. The host Kimberly is very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines that they produce and made us feel welcome. Tousey also has honey which is produced by the vineyard as well. A very nice visit.

Its hard to top the Queen...however today I stopped in to try their new semi-dry Riesling... it just might be my new favorite! A must try!

I've been to Tousey winery several times over the last year. Whether it's a team member or owner doing the pouring, they're all knowledgeable and engaging. To top it off, the wine is fantastic!

Perfect place to stop on the Hudson valley wine trail; or on a bike trip. Great wines... I usually prefer reds, and their Cabs are full bodied and tasty; but the Queen 'Rules!' Really, I enjoy all their wines. True craftsmen... The Casis is a real treat...

Enjoyed tasting with reds, white, and 2 dessert wines. Tasting room is inside with no outside tables\view. A block away is the 1 year old Hudson Valley Distillery which offered tour and tasting.

Killer Red and Queen of Clermont are my absolute favorites! Pick up some of their local honey and home made soap while you are there!

This was a nice trip to Tousey Winery, they made you feel welcome from the first step in to the building. The lady`s that where there are very nice and accommodating. The wine is wonderful also. My husband and I had a full wine tasting and the price was great, at there large slab of a tree trunk table, nice and grounding. Felt very relaxed and we bought 3 bottles of their wine YUMMMMM...I look forward to going back to NY soon, and now have a great winery to stop in, as we make are way to the Vanderbilt Mason. Makes the trip much more enjoyable. :-)

The tasting room is welcoming and they will offer you samplings of their complete line. Many wineries charge for the tastings, BUT Tousey does not. Although we enjoy all of their wines our favorites are ...Rebellion Red, Queen of Clermont, and their Rieslings. They also offer a tour of their vineyards with light snack and of course wine.

This winery offers their wine at our local farmer's market and it's fantastic! I typically prefer red wines, but I LOVE their Chardonnay and Riesling and also enjoy their Rebel Rose ... their red wines are excellent; I find it difficult to pick a favorite. They have a lovely tasting room, but I was lucky enough to go with a group on their vineyard tour and had a wonderful time. What a fantastic way to spend an afternoon among the vines drinking wine. Ben was a great guide and we all had a great time. I highly recommend their wine, and if you can get a group together (I think you need 12 to do the vineyard tour) to do the tour of the vineyard it's beautiful and very informative.

Aside from the hosts' inviting welcome, which made me feel right at home the minute I walked through the door, there is no more charming atmosphere than this in which to unwind on a sultry Friday evening while sipping 12 flights of delicious wine. We gathered in an intimate setting around a magnificent curved slab of beautifully polished, salvaged wood which served as our "tasting bar," set with glistening stemware and bowls of English crackers. The main tasting room was designed in a low-key but sophisticated country style, surrounded by discreet, elegant displays of their own wines, local artisanal honey, jams and homemade "wine soaps." With Ben's deft explanations of how the tasting & scoring would proceed, and a good jigger of his and Kim's humor thrown in for good measure, the dozen or so of us who first sat down together as strangers became quick friends as we began to share comments, impressions, and laughter as the evening went on. The quality of wines--both red & white in this case--were excellent, and we were even generously sent home by Kim with the remainder of a lovely pino grigio that we had given a score of "3 out of 3" --a testament to that personal touch that distinguishes them from more run-of-the-mill destinations. The blind tasting part was most fun when the true identities of each wine were revealed as their brown bag covers were ripped off, with squeals of "I knew it !" or "No kidding!" punctuating the air as tasters compared their notes with reality. The pours were extremely generous, and after 12 of them, everyone felt entirely satiated. Ben's knowledge is vast and added a nice educational element to the tasting. What a great deal for such a modest sum! You could hardly find a more relaxing and convivial way to spend an evening in a country setting so typical of the Hudson Valley. You are not going to find more down-to-earth hosts than here, nor better prices on award-winning local wines if you want to take home a few bottles as a souvenir--if the locals "in the know" don't buy them out first. Reserve in advance.
