snowdonia

Always wanted to go to Snowdonia and it did not dissapoint. Never realised the scenery and diversity of the landscape throughout the park could be so changeable, from rugged mountains, beautiful lakes, to alpine forests.We stayed at Menai Bridge but all parts of Snowdonia is easy access along the A5.One of the places we visted was Llanberris which is a lovely village right in the centre of the national park with lovely walks around the lake, or get a steam train through the lake trail. Visit the slate museum, or enjoy the stunning views from the castle. This is where you also get the train to the top of Snowdon. It will cost you (adult) £27 return. It takes 1hour to travel to the top with literally breathtaking views across the vast mountain range, 30 minutes at the top before a 1hour journey back. For those who do not like heights I would suggest to sit in the middle of the carraige as there are some quite terrifying drops. The trains get very busy and you may have to book for a train some hours after arriving but this gives you the opportunity to have a walk around Llanberris.
