Played one round of golf. A nice course, but nothing spectacular.Sand, water, nice scenery around it. Can recommend the course which is in South Fork.

The 18 holes are beautiful and challenging. The elevation 8200ft makes walking difficult but the course is well worth the trip. 9 holes along the Rio Grande and 9 holes in the mountain to challenge all golfers. Beer and Quesadillas after for a great finish. If you have time go fly fishing on the river or rafting.

When you are looking for an elegant, white table cloth, fine dining option in South Fork, this should be your choice. Fabulous food, incredible service, awesome setting. Sitting in a Lodge dining space with a roaring fire while overlooking the manicured greens of the local golf course will make this meal an event not just food. Not stuffy but casual elegance makes this place perfect for this mountain setting.At the end of the meal the chef stopped by and talking to us for a couple minutes. Very NICE touch.

Friends just got married here - beautiful spot! Food was great and, although I did not play the course, many others did and said it was a great course.

They need to call in help to get them on track. Slow and marginal food. Huge place with beautiful dinning area and view. Nice barOne of the nicest club houses you'll see. Hope they will call in help! Like Restaurant Rescue of the TV series.

Played the Rio Grande Club course after travelling over Wolf Creek Pass from Pagosa Springs. Our 2 couples paid the green fees, loaded up our carts and used the practice range, and were on time for our late morning tee time. All was good and appropriate on a beautiful fall day... until we reached the 13th hole. A hoard of children appeared on the horizon, flooding the cart paths and the course. An area school track meet was being held on the course and kids were running loose all over the 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th holes. Hundreds of them, walking over greens while we tried to play, talking, laughing...totally clueless about the golfers present. We were absolutely shocked at this development. We managed to finish the round without hitting any kids, but the incident spoiled our day. When complaints were made to pro shop management after the round, we were met with indifference and weak excuses. No apology, no concessions. This makes the third negative experience we have encountered with this golf club (poor F/B service and ripped off on a 2 for 1 green fee offer in the past years). Not recommended!

The golf course is set up with 9 holes meadowland and 9 holes set in the mountains. Makes for a good variety of golf shots. The 18th hole is one lofty devil. Come equipped with a few extra balls. Expect to play it several times to score well otherwise enjoy the beautiful setting and wildlife.

I went with a group of 30 people and we stayed in these townhouses. They are large and very well appointed. The unit that I stayed in had 4 big bedrooms upstairs with 2 full baths. Downstairs there was a large living room, kitchen and dining area. Plus, another bedroom with a king size bed and another full bath. Plus, another full bath off the hall. The golf course is outside your door and a walking trail with a wonderful view of the mountains and valley. The manager of the townhomes was waiting for us when we all arrived. She had each townhome with our names listed on the door. The management came around once we were all settled in our rooms to see if we had everything we needed. Very relaxing lodging. This would be a great place for a family reunion.

The Rio Grande Club is one of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. It's hard to concentrate on your golf when the views are so stunning. The course is in immaculate condition and is a challenge if you don't stay on the fairway, so try to hit them straight! We actually came to South Fork just to play this course and were not disappointed. You won't be either. Add a meal at the restaurant and you'll have a perfect golf outing.

We have eaten in the grill at the Rio Grand Club several times. It's always great. Today we had quesadillas that were wonderful. Beautiful view of the golf course too.

We ate and played golf at the Rio Grande club and could not have been happier. We had great food and a fun day!

A must do, terrific course in great shape and very challenging too. Fantastic views on back nine, take your cameras !

18 holes that will challenge and reward you, seeing views

We went to eat here as we live in South Fork (which is notably vacant of good cuisine with an exception of the Silver Fork). The view of the golf course, pond with ducks, and mtns was great. The food was overpriced, overcooked, and blah. Limp vegetables, very chewy steak cuts, etc. The golf course looks amazing though, but I have not played it. I have interacted with a member though, as I was floating past a hole on my raft. Her response was to yell at me for holding up her game. The river was running at 7 knots and my floating raft was 'in her way' for all of say 5 seconds. So from an n=1 analysis, its maybe possible the members are snooty. They are 99% rich Texans, btw.

If you are going to Southern Colorado and want to Golf or Fly Fish...go to the Rio Grande Club in South Fork. Course is phenomenal with 138 slope and 72.9 difficulty rating. Views are fantastic. Fly fished with guide...top notch. Went late last spring. Lots of sun, very dry climate. Food in restaurant/clubhouse was great. Kids did white water rafting in area, hiked, and mtn. biking. Can't wait to go back.
