Although there are other beaches I prefer in terms of size and surf, Wallis Sands is a great family beach as there are ample changing rooms, showers, and food available right on site (as opposed to many other beaches along Route 1). At the height of the season, it can get quite crowded, so my best advice is to get there early in the day. (In fact, there are times in July and August, especially on the weekend, where the parking lot closes.) But there's plenty of room to explore - rocks, tide pools, walking path, etc. I highly recommend.

Excellent Beach with bach house and beautiful sand. Small beach and gets crowded when the tide comes in but still worth it.

Great spot and Park for a swim or walk on the sandy beach. Well cared for in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately there was a temporary algae bloom that turned the water red when we were there. We swam any way!

This is a lovely white-sand beach with lots of parking and the facilities many beach enthusiasts want. As a result, it can be a little crowded during peak (summer) months. However, when it's quiet, this is a great family beach with a long stretch to walk, and -- unless there's undertow -- the beach slopes gently into the water so little ones can play in the shallow waves, safely.

Great beach, though I prefer Jenness. Good family beach, nice rocks to climb. Smaller so really good for the little ones.

Wow. Great beach. Low tide. Lots of space to walk. Friendly people with friendly dogs. No litter. Restrooms open. Beautiful night sky and fantastic sunrise.

While the tide was out there were small tide pools where we saw small crabs, hermit crabs, snails, etc...

There was plenty of parking on the sunny Friday afternoon we visited. Had we been senior citizens from New Hampshire, we could have gotten in for free. But, the $15 parking fee was worth it. The bathhouse was clean & refreshments were available. It was low tide and there was a fair amount of seaweed on the northern end of the beach. My wife & I enjoyed walking the clean southern stretch.

I have been going to Wallis Sands for over 35 years! I started taking my two girls there when they were 2 yrs old - never had any problem with they "wandering" away. Two rock walls on either side of the beach "contain" them almost like a playpen. Mostly families - not a lot of loud, rowdy groups making your day unpleasant! Bathhouse could up some serious updating! Little bit afraid of catching something in the shower. Amazing how women can be so gross!! AND - when it says "CARRY IN, CARRY OUT"- it usually means it! THAT'S WHY THEY GIVE YOU YOUR VERY OWN GARBAGE BAG WHEN YOU ENTER - PLEASE, TAKE IT HOME TO DISPOSE OF - DON'T PUT IT IN THE BATHROOM GARBAGE, WE REALLY DO NOT WANT TO SMELL OR LOOK AT IT!!! Admission is a little too much ($15) - but if you do have a Military ID, you will be given free access. This is very, very nice of them. (I was not fortunate enough to have this at Newfound Lake in Bristol, NH - much too much to get in there - went home and got in the pool!) Highly recommend this beach if you want a nice quiet day at the beach - worth the trip! But, try to keep it a secret - little bit of paradise in NH!!!

A friend recommended this beach, and I'm glad she did! Parking was a bit silly, given how plentiful it was - I get charging top shelf prices if they are scarce, which they are not. The restrooms and changing facilities were adequate. A bit stinky, very dated, but sufficient. The beach itself was nice and deep, very little weeds or seaweed, and a good solid 25' of tide depth change. Easy to get in and out of the beach, good sand. I'll come back!

We love this beach. It is very small so you can keep your eyes on the little ones. It is very family friendly. Low tide is amazing but at high tide the beach can get tight. The bathhouse and snack bar are great too. Take a walk to the rocks on the left. You may find some periwinkles or crabs. Please do not tell too many people as it is starting to become popular and discovered ;)

It is a small beach and can get crowded, but perfect for families with small children. No big waves and a bath house on location. One down side is the price to get in. Good all day spot!

What a beautiful location. The fee last time I went was $15.00, but I didn't pay it. I parked over in the free 1-hour parking spots by the rocks on the left side of the beach. I love going and picking shells/rocks, and walking in the water. It's such a small, beautiful place.

I find the parking prices a little high, and the beach a little small at high tide. Otherwise, my family had a blast there-- it's quieter than the bigger beaches and at low tide there was room for a whiffle ball game and other family fun.

Nice long beach, usually not too crowded. Good place for walking and sightseeing. Disappointed to see that dogs are not allowed (in season.)
