Volunteers were very knowledgeable, friendly. Didn't have time for full tour, but next time will make sure we do.

Cute little museum with ever changing themes for children. Lots to do and some hands on stuff too. My grandchildren love to visit when they come to visit.

When I recently read about this museum, my husband and I decided to take our 9-year-old grandson for a visit. (We live in CT; he lives about 35 minutes from the museum). What a delight! The chocolate exhibit was most interesting..... and we each enjoyed our chocolate samplings! Was very nice to see how the history of chocolate was incorporated into the permanent world culture exhibit. We all LOVED the "attic" - with all of its amazing and varied musical instruments! Our grandson could have spent all afternoon there. Wonderful hands-on activities. Interesting innovation room (probably more appreciated by younger visitors). Gift shop had some very nice items. We bought a beautiful half-priced vase which is gracing our home so beautifully. An advantage was being in the lovely little town of Peterborough. We especially enjoyed the Sharon Arts Center displays/gifts, along with Twelve Pines cafe; outdoor terrace dining was great - with healthy, yummy treats for lunch. An ideal afternoon. Looking forward to the next exhibit!

The Mariposa is a very sweet little museum--best for children. The gift shop looked interesting too.

Very well thought out exhibits with a plethora of hands-on, interactive stations for children and adults. We visited while the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" exhibit was going on, which outlined the history of chocolate making and the current state of the industry, complete with cacao beans for smelling, chocolate for tasting, and a Willy Wonka inventing room for kids to have some hands on fun. Highly recommend if you are in the Peterborough area!

A small gem, with exhibits from several parts of the world, well displayed and documented. This is a good stop that can take an hour or two, with something interesting for all ages.

The building itself is worth checking out, but they also have fun unusual events and displays. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I and our son and daughter-in-law and our four-year-old grand daughter spent a good two hours there and we learned a lot in the museum on the first floor, which includes a wonderful library and comfortable places to sit and read. The second floor is like no other place I have ever been. It is designed with the intention that everything is to be explored, touched and played with. Lots of puppets, costumes for dress-up, and perhaps most fun, all kinds of musical instruments to play. Puppet shows are given upstairs and museum memberships are available. Don't miss it!

Extraordinary Museum experience. A completely unique examination of world culture and experience through an amazing, eclectic collection of artifacts, textiles, music, visual art. performance. Nothing like it.

This gem of a museum is one of those places you can appreciate as an adult, but bringing a child or grandchild is just so special. They can explore little nooks with costumes, musical instruments and puppets just to name a few. Just being exposed to so many of the world cultures is wonderful as an adult, but the little ones gain so much from visiting here.We live over an hour away, and it is worth the trip. Do check out their website!

Mariposa Museum is definitely a low-budget production, but manages to produce exhibits that are interesting and thought-provoking on a consistent basis. I don't know that I'd recommend it as the destination venue of a cross-country trip, but for locals it's worth a family membership card.

A beautfiul exhibit - mostly owned by a single woman who has since passed away. Nadia, the Curator at the museum spent so much time with us - explaining so many interesting things. Certainly time well spent.

On the expensive side to enter if you have to pay full price (residents could check out a free pass from the town library the last time we went), but they sometimes have free events, and the place is wonderful. So much to see and do. I especially like the musical instruments from around the world upstairs. So did my young daughter. Lots aimed for kids besides that, including puppets in a little theater and dress-up clothes. A jewel in Our Town's crown.

I don't know if I can say anything about the Mariposa Museum, It has to be experienced. If you are an inquisitive person who loves beautiful things, you'll love it here.
