Although it is pretty small it has a lot of nice aircraft and simulators. There are also a a lot of nice artifacts.

This hidden treasure is nestled in the back of the little-known, but well-established Cape May Regional Airport; and has both an excellent assortment of Military and Private aircraft and materials. I recommend a visit to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, as well.

Large indoor collection of military aircraft from WWII through Vietnam including helicopters and related stuff. You can browse at your own pace and get right up to most of the collection. Lots of historical exhibits.

Hi Beth! We are so sorry to hear your recent visit to NASW fell below your expectations. As you have noted, all of our aircraft and exhibits are housed within Hangar #1, a 92,000 square foot, all wood aircraft hangar built by the Navy during World War II. Hangar #1 once served as an active dive bomber training facility, but it has since been restored to serve as a non-profit museum, listed on both the National and State Registers of Historic Places at a level of National Significance. That being said - it is not insulated or heated, and we try to alert guests to be prepared for the elements when visiting. As indicated on the signage at the museum's entrance, our non profit employs a very small staff, even smaller in the winter, so while we do not staff the gift shop in the off season, there is a buzzer that guests are directed to ring for assistance. The gift shop and Ready Room (where the short intro film is housed) are currently under construction as part of an expansion/renovation project that will be completed in Spring 2015; we apologize that this construction may have contributed to the dusty floors that you noted in your review. During this construction we are not charging an admission fee, only requesting donations from our visitors. We constantly strive to make progress here at Hangar #1 and are grateful for your valuable feedback. Great place to take the kids, grandkids, especially when it is not a beach day. Interactive stations, many jets, planes, andhelicopters are available for kids/adults to sit in

Airplanes from various wars and conflicts contained in hangars at an airport. Knowledgeable volunteers are eager to talk about items. Some of the displays are "walk through".

The Aviation Museum was a surprise.....lots of airplanes, helicopters, etc to look at, climb into, and read about. It is not climate controlled and a little expensive.

This is worth the side trip if you have time. You can find a $2.00 off coupon in the local coupon books. Nice variety of aircraft. My husband loved it. I like the old WW11 music that was playing throughout.....

This place is an absolute must for your visit to Cape May and surrounding beaches. We had to drag our son out of the planes after almost 3 hours. All hands on and so much fun. Our son still asks to go back. We will soon! The staff is excellent and you can tell that they are passionate about everything they do.

We took our 3 year old son here and he loved it!!!! The owner is the nicest man you will ever meet. I definitely recommend this place and they also do military discounts!

This is an actual WWII hangar (I think it's probably one of very few, if any, left). With great planes, bombers, and interactive kid activities, it's a must see site when you're in the Cape May area. Nice gift shop too.

great displays of WWII and more modern military aircraft. Introductory film was very informative. Well laid out, enables you to get up close to the displays. A real tribute to The Greatest Generation! Kudos for saving this little piece of NJ history!
