first reformed church

From a glance at the outside, it looks like the church is shut down, but it is far from that. The small congregation that make up the First Reformed Church have been working hard at reshaping the church by doing some cleanup and renovations themselves.In a few months, part of the church will be transformed into Dina's Dwelling, a domestic abuse shelter for women. This means that the worship part of the church will be cut in half to just the upstairs, making it more quaint and cozy for the members that come.The pastor has been preaching there for over 14 years, and he along with other members of the church, bring much life to the church.

The people there are very nice and the location is historical. Very nice spending time with great people in a very welcoming community.

Looking like an old church which has fallen into disrepair, The First Reform Church is a stake in the soul of New Brunswick. Standing right next door to the Christ Church, they make you wonder if New Brunswick would even be there without them. It is still an active church so respect is required. But, it is sad to see the head stones all toppled over like that. Just down a block from the Monument Park, it is an easy walk.
