This is a great venue - very clean, well organized, and there is a lot of variety of food and beverage. The only downside is the price of tickets. It would be nice to make this more affordable to families - cheapest tickets were $95 each, and were 5 rows from the top. We drove down from Montreal for a short family vacation, but I can't see how people can regularly bring their families to games.
If I could recommend one thing, it would be to get passes for the tour that they have on Saturday's. If you are a Giants fan, you will love it even more because of the Legend's room in the stadium
We took our annual trip to met life stadium to see the NY Giants beat the Washington Redskins. We had incredible seats and were very surprised by the selection and quality of food. We ate from Nonas food stand and enjoyed a wonderful spicey pork, provolone, and broccoli rabe sandwich. Amazing amount of pork and it lived up to the spicey advertisement. Another in our party had the meatball sub and could not believe how moist and tasty the meatballs were. We moved on to hotdogs with sauerkraut and were equally as pleased. None beer was nice and cold, but the temps were in the low 40's. What did impress us was the amount of warm drinks available. From hot chocolate to hit hard cider I think the stadium steps up to address everyone's needs with colder temps. Great experience!
Just enjoyed a Giant's victory at Met life Stadium against the Giants and the Redskins. This was my first visit to the stadium and I enjoyed every moment. The Giants won of course. We had great seats thanks to my wife's co worker who gave us two seasons tickets. The stadium is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. My wife and I had a great time with our fellow Giants fans however you have to love the Giants to pay for the price of food. The food is incredible however your going to pay. Also I would advise you to leave before the game is over if you do not want to spend hours trying to get out the parking lot. Otherwise we had a fantastic time. Go Big Blue!!!!!!
I love going to games at Giants stadium. Or anything there really. I much prefer the warmer weather though. January is a bit ridiculous.
As a 40 year season ticket holder I have been terribly dissapointed in the new stadium. From the arbitrary parking lot employees who shunt you to out of the way & probably convenient for them. Parking areas. Arriving 3 hours before game time to tailgate with family & old friends they try to mske you park at the racetrack where you have to take a bus to the stadium & obviously can't take your grill. Then there's the ingress & egress where you have to wend your way up & around various escalators just so they can get you into the outrageously priced food courts unlike before where you could take one escalator directly to your level. And then the seats which I swear are smaller with less leg room. And no dome ? Makes no sense to me..
Had a great time here being the only 49ers fan in a group of NYG fans! Had our tickets bought well in advance and collected on the gate. Travelling from England, I was expecting there to be 1 bar and 1 food outlet to serve thousands of fans (like Wembley/Twickenham) but there were bars and various cuisine food stands dotted all over the place, keeping queues down! Another great experience was the fans mixing together before and during the game. Overall we had a great time - everyone we met was so helpful and welcoming and the Niners picked up a vital win on the road!!! If you can get tickets - go to a game! Great experience!
What a mess...1.8 bil for a giant central air unit that has terrible facilities to move people to their seats... the access points are 1/4 of the old place and the ramps are a horror show...throw in parking, concessions and over the top security and that created an ex-ticket holder (me). I saw Blue play in the ancient Yankee Stadium and even more ancient Yale Bowl. To me those two places would be an improvement. At least I have my seats from the real GIANTS STADIUM in my living room... 400 bucks for them was less than the 2 grand I had to pay more my pair in the grey behemoth- Sorry Mara family, I miss Sundays at the real deal that existed from 1976-2009...
Everything was as expected for a NYC sporting event. Traffic, price for a round of drinks cost me a 2nd mortgage but putting all that aside it was a great experience. Look into public transportation the parking is a nightmare.
I explained this on another review. You're asking me to do this again after you published the last one ? I actually just finished it. Anyway, It was truly cool to be ON the field, and wearing my COLTS shirt made it better. , but I do like the Giants also, Go Eli.
MetLife Stadium is a major upgrade from old Giants stadium. Beautiful promenade decks, amazing seats... but you still get to pay a major fee for any food or beverage ordered inside the stadium. The tailgating rule of having to wait until 5 hours before game time to get into the parking lot is stupid in my opinion - does nothing but encourage binge drinking amongst the rowdiest lot. The fans are knowledgeable and generally accepting, unless you happen to be taunting them or wearing an Eagles jersey. Overall: This stadium is a great venue to catch a football game in...
U.S. stadia use "security" as an excuse to make sure you are not smuggling in food or drink so you are forced to pay the exorbitant prices inside. Period. (Real security would turn bags inside out, not poke the contents around with a paint stick!).Met Life is the most extreme example (and Yankee Stadium is pretty intense about keeping prohibited food out). This stadium goes so far as to limit the size of women's bags to a tiny 6" by 6" square. I have makeup bags that are larger! God forbid if a women is menstrating - you won't be able to bring in a bag large enough to fit sanitary pads. I wish I was kidding. Once inside, the food/drink options are atrocious. At least Yankee Stadium has several restaurants with somewhat decent (read: non-junk food) options. Not so Met Life. They only have concession stands serving junk food, not even a salad - the "food" options are rubber "chicken" pieces and hot dogs (and who knows what mystery "meat" is in hot dogs). The "cheese" fries had yellow goo on top - no clue what it actually was apart from some yellow dye and chemicals. Definitely didn't look like any cheese I could identify. As for drinks, the "beer" is Budweiser. Seriously? It's utterly overpriced at $10 a pop, considering the quality of this "beer". Met Life should at least serve some real craft brews. We have marvelous micro-breweries in the NYC area - how about Met Life supporting some local businesses instead of a corporation? And offer some Finger Lakes wine while they're at it! When I tried to get an empty cup to grab some water from the water fountain two staff members actually told me that they couldn't hand any out because the management "counts the cups". (I had to ask twice because I couldn't believe my ears). Bet the "non-profit" NFL (who plays at this stadium) doesn't count the perks on their private jets. Tip: bring your own cup and fill it up at the free water fountains instead of forking over $10 a pop to quench your thirst.I haven't even addressed the cost of parking. After paying a fortune for tickets, the parking should be FREE!!! Instead it's $30 a car. $30? For parking on reclaimed swamp land? As for the seats you overpaid for, two words: bring cushions. At least the view is good from any seat. Bottom line: for the fortune in tax credits we give the operators of this stadium, we deserve better.
Actually getting to go to an NFL game while in the states was a huge deal for me, experiencing tailgate and how immense it was... totally worth it, and what a gorgeous stadium too!
My first trip to the stadium. We sat in section 106 and 108. Both were good seats in the corner. Food was excellent and beer was good, but expensive at $10 a glass. The ONLY way to get wine or liquor is at the Captain Morgan bar which gets filled up and they won't allow more people in. Also, you can't leave this area with your drinks.Security seemed heightened and they were wanding every person entering the stadium.Bathrooms were good.
NFL has new regulations that do not allow woman to carry purses that are larger than your hand. If you want to bring a bag it has to be completely clear.
