wild iris wall

Lander is a terrific climbing town-partly because of NOLS but also because of places like the Wild Iris Wall (the Wild Iris store is also pretty good for a small town store.) Wild Iris Wall is challenging but doable for those new to the sport and also real experts. The scenery is beautiful and the Wall is very accessible. Good solid climbing for almost all levels. Also try climbing in Sinks Canyon State Park and bouldering in the Sweetwater Rocks about 45 minutes east of town off Highway 287.

First of all it looks like this was meant for the actual climbing spot. But I'm jumping in with some others who have reviewed Wild Iris Mountain Sports. It's a great place to grab most essential gear you would want to go climbing. They even have Teva sandals for infants. Lots of cool stuff. Informational flyers for climbing excursions, etc. Be prepared to pay TOP Dollar for everything. We went in one day and the gentleman behind the counter was friendly, warm, helpful, and inviting. However went in another day and there was a different person working there...completely aloof. Really a hit and miss place when it comes to service. Think they would do even do better if they didn't act like the place was a popularity club. We decided to go elsewhere and spend our dough....

The wild iris is a great place to get the best outdoor gear or what ever the adventure! We live in Dubois, WY 75 miles away and love to travel to shop here! The customer service is always very helpful and personable. I you return or a second visit they remember you ..and they carry great quality merchandise.

It is a nice store and the prices are comparable to REI. But the customer service is poor. Arrogance must be a requirement on the job application.

Wild Iris Rocks! Great limestone pocket climbing in a wild setting. Far removed from crowds and urban areas, the Wild Iris offers a pleasent out of the way destination for the traveling climber. Climbs range from 5.8 - 5.14a.Do keep a clean camp. This is bear country and a few dirty climbers have had their tents shreaded. Like Custard, they had it coming.Enjoy.
