I had only taken grandchildren to the Houston Children's Museum previously. I was very pleased with our first visit to the Woodlands site. Great interactive play for all ages. Will return.
This little museum is a gem. It is clean and the staff is friendly. There are lots and lots of fun hands-on exhibits for the kids to enjoy along with craft project. Glad this is here in The Woodlands.
Its not a museum, its a great edutainment place for the kids - digging in the tire pit, enjoying the train tables, fishing in the water tables, pushing the fake food around, wearing the fireman uniforms. Great for a wet or very hot day. They do parties too.
We are new to the area and looking for new things to do while we are living in temporary housing. My 20 month old really liked it. He was interested in the majority of the activities. There is a space for 3 and under, but honestly, the activities in there he wasn't very interested in and it's a pretty small space. I thought the $5 fee was fine. The staff was friendly. This probably isn't something we will do on a regular basis, but definitely a good activity for your little one on a rainy day or when you are looking for something to do. Nice range of activities and I thought everything was well maintained.
Absolutely fell in love! My kids loved it and I prefer it to the huge Houston one. It is smaller but not crowded. Absolutely best staff! It sure does take someone special to work with kids all day and the teens working on this day showed their passion for it! Prices are great!
Not much to do there. Definitely not a "museum". More like an indoor play area. Probably wouldn't visit again.
We were there for about 2 hours. All my kids found something to do from pretending on the stage, pretending to be a firefighter, playing in the rice bins, in the 'dirt' to building a house with big foam blocks. $5 a kid, under 2 is free, bored from too much travel, makes for a great outing.
We were trying to figure out what to do with two toddlers on rainy and cold days and decided to check out the museum. We were so pleased we did! The kids had loads of fun! They loved the fish pond, the dirt (rubber cuttings) pile, and especially the "store" shopping experience. We'd highly recommend this place to other parents to consider. The cost is $5 pp (children under 2 are free). You can buy an annual membership for $67 (family of 2 adults + kids) and add'l $10 for any additional adults (like grandma). We paid $20 to get in and were able to apply that towards the annual membership on that same day.
My five year old loved this museum. It is small and geared towards younger children. Seven and older may get bored or go through the museum quickly. They allow you to leave and come back and the price was reasonable. We played, went to lunch and ran some errands and then went back for the afternoon. They keep the museum really clean and organized.
We bought a year pass. My child loved it at first. We went in the afternoons during school so it was less crowded. The staff were obviously a little too bored, however, and would take toys away from him and make him cry and were inconsistent with their rules (some days it's okay to take toys outside a certain 'zone', other days it's not...). I take my child so he can freely explore, not get things taken away from him - at 1 year old he does not understand. Also, other parents let their kids push, hit, and rip toys out of my toddlers' hands. And I don't know if/when they clean things at this place - kids are always sick here. We haven't been back in a while and not sure if I want to...
Brought my 20 month old daughter here and she loved all the different things available to do. There is a pretend grocery store with carts and fake fruit/veggies that they can "shop" for and then pretend checkout. There is a small fishing pond where they can use plastic fishing poles (safe for little ones) to catch fish (using magnets imbedded in the fish). There is a huge gravel pit with play trucks, a small puppet theater, even costumes that they can put on and perform with. It's a lot of fun for younger children, maybe not so fu for kids over 6 or 7. Kids under 2 are free and the museum is open on Sundays. It's well worth a visit if you have a toddler who has outgrown the play area at the mall.
My 4 year old loves this place and it is only $5! We spend about 2 hours each time we go. Their fun kids lecture s are entertaining and educational. Will keep returning in the hot houston summer!
Visited with grandchildren who are regulars. They love it here and we were impressed by the renge of very well set up activitities and play equipment. For under fives and toddlers it is an indoor heaven where they can choose what to do and for how long. Everything seemed very well maintained and the annual membership is good value.
Perfect to take your toddler to if you don't want to go all the way downtown to the Children's museum. There are so many fun learning activities to do with your kiddo, they will love it. Very clean .
My kids love this place!! The exhibits are educational, of course, and my kids learn a lot every time we go.
