I camped in the campground for the weekend, very nice spot and very inexpensive at $16 for E&W and a lake view.Tons of picnic benches, let's of activities, golf, Frisby golf, fishing, boating,water sports, massive sports complex with soccer pitches, base ball etc etc. ( however, these are only for organised events / matches.Not far outside of Dallas, it's a nice little spot.Great for a weekend break or just a family picnic or day out

The lake offers lot of activities. It even has a cricket field. Go ahead, enjoy the lake and serene environment.

My kids had a great time there!! I can't believe we waited 8 years to go there, my kids will love going again!

The area was very welcoming and relaxing. It was easy to access. We would definitely return if given the chance.

The lake is huge. We visited the lake at the elm park entrance. It is like a lake beach. The place is not the cleanest, but if you go prepared you can have a good time. You can do Kayaking, boating or Jet Skii. The rent for these activities go sky high during holidays. Come prepared with food and water and for people who like fishing you can spend ample time here. Dont forget your picnic towels or towelspreads. The water is not too muddy so you can get in and cool off. For a city which is far away from the beaches this is a decent place to spend a day.

We stayed here while I was working in Dallas. It's about 25 miles from downtown and a quick trip up the North Dallas Tollway. Many of the sites have lake views. 30 Amp and 50 Amp power is available depending on the site location. The campground is very reasonably priced, $16 for a site with water and electric. Many over the air tv channels are available. Their are pay laundry facilities available from 9 AM to 8 PM. The gates are open from 6 AM to 11 PM. While no direct water access the campground is adjacent to the park at the lake.

New within the last couple years with one of the best dog parks in north Dallas. Great skate park on site gives the local kids a place to hangout with causing problems around the city.

Decent site with camping available for a fee, Lots of baseball fields but they are only available for league play under warnings of tresspassing. 18 hole golf course and driving range backing up to the lake with reasonable prices.

Seemed semi-nice at first. We specifically asked 4 a campsite with capability to have a ground fire. Gave us a site area with no ground fires allowed, after re-assuring site was. Also, assured us a near-by restroom we had children with us. And YES, there were restrooms...boarded up & CLOSED! We ate, let kids play a little and then left, what a JOKE !!!

We recently took our new RV out for a first night shake down cruise. We chose Lake Park Campground as it was close to our dealer and also within reasonable distance of home and church for other commitments we had to attend to. Additionally, with the National Park shutdown we lost the opportunity to camp at any Corp of Engineer run pars.We arrived early, but the park hosts were very accommodating to us and we got a great spot for a brand new Travel Trailer tower to back into as we didn't have to do any corners. Our site, #18, was situated on a corner and relatively private, but not really a view of the lake. Electric box was a bit old and one outlet sparked when I put our plug in, the spigot for the water hose is literally at the ground. The site was gravel and fairly level with a picnic table and a standard campground type grill. Unfortunately, the one day we got to spend there was raining, so we were not able to take advantage of the rest of the park's offerings. The weather cleared up the day we had to leave, but even with late checkout at 3 PM we didn't have time to enjoy everything.There were mostly big class A's and large travel trailers but a few families were also there. They popped out when the weather cleared, but I'm guessing most of the guests there are full time retired rv'ers, not families.The restrooms were ok. Not heated or cooled and not particularly private. Most who stay there likely use their own facilities in their rigs. The campground is right next to ball fields, so there were games going on ALL day when it wasn't raining, with the big lights. They didn't bother us, but were quite bright. I'm not sure we'll go back, there are a few other options we plan to check into when we are able to venture a bit further from home. We do prefer more of a state park type atmosphere when we are camping.

The water is not clear as I expected. The beach is so muddy and almost impossible for your kids to play. It is good for jet skiing though. You can rent jet ski for about 150 bucks for 2 hours. Since the weather is too hot, you cannot stay in the water more than 2 hours anyway. Very scenic and they have awesome spot for campers.

We stayed in our Motor Home and was pleasantly surprised at how scenic this park is! Great access to the waterfront and very quiet atmosphere. Beautiful pine trees, plenty of walking areas, golf, ball fields, and geocaching. The rates were minimal. The staff, however, were not friendly nor personable. In fact, they were borderline rude for no reason. It's a shame such a lovely campsite has unhappy employees. They did not make a good first impression on arrival. We will return but we hope these people have retired.

Paying disc golf is fun no matter where you are, but when you're on a lake, it's even better! This is an 18-hole course between the paid boat ramp and the marina entrance. Outdoor restrooms sure help, two ways to get in and out, and it's all free!

Lewisville Lake Park is huge. It's big enough that it deserves the name of a forgotten politician. In fact, the whole lake needs a name like all the other lakes in the area. The problem with this park not having a distinctive name is that nobody knows where it is. Google Maps just put it on the map in the right place. Let's call it Billy Bob Smith Lake Park. Because nobody knows it's there, it's almost never crowded except maybe on fishing tournament weekends. Half the park is run by the city and is free to access. The other part is run by the Corps of Engineers and has an entrance fee if you drive a vehicle in or you go camping.The campground is on a little hill. It's for campers and tents and is wooded with tall trees.The swimming beach is at the far end of the park at the very end of Lake Park Road. People don't notice it and they go swimming at other places in the park where it's muddy. The beach itself is sandy. It's not sandy like a beach in Jamaica but it is sand and not rocks or mud. Depending on the water level you can walk out from the shore in the water a long way. The beach has a playground nearby and has a restroom but no lifeguard and no store or vending machines. Some people fish nearby and some parasail in that area.The frisbee golf course is accessible outside the entrance to the main part of the park. To get to the main part of the park you have to pay $10 per vehicle. You can park at the baseball and soccer field parking lots on Lake Park Road and walk into the park though. There are two golf courses. One is 18 hole and has a clubhouse and a lighted driving range that stays open until about 8:00 or 9:00 at night. A bucket of balls is about $12. They do run out of balls if you get to the driving range late when the weather's good. The other course is 9 holes and is lighted at night. You can join their plan and pay by the month and then the driving range balls are included in the monthly fee. A lot of people bring their whole family to the 9 hole course because there are times when kids play free. The 9 hole course also has batting cages.The park is very relaxing and great place for a picnic, walking, stargazing, or bike riding. It's about 5 minutes from I-35 and easy to get to.
