This place gives me the heebyjeebies. I don't go anymore as I see kids in saggy diapers in the water and it grosses me out. I've seen people eat then go "wash" their hands in the water. It seems dirty and run down. Of course my kids could care less and love it so can't say it's all bad.
This place is great for families. Great value and you can bring snacks,. Gret way to cool off in the Texas heat.. My favorite wa the lazy river. Defintley go on a weekday not a weekend if you do not like crowds.
This place is overpriced in general, food is overpriced and terrible. Rides are just ok. I witnessed a woman complaining to an employee about having to wait over an hour in line for ice cream for her kids in the blazing heat. The ground is hot, there is no cover when you stand in the long lines. It's just terribly uncomfortable and not worth it. The employee offered this woman cotton candy to make things better. Dude, not going to work. I would rather spend less to go somewhere where my feet wont get burned, or spend a little more, and go to a real park.
It was ok.the food wasn't great also expensive then outside this place. I recommend if you go there pack your food and drinks. Other wise was great to be there
Nice park and well laid out design but watch for the bees. This park has some great rides. They do have some issues with bees by the lazy river but they don't bother the people. Try to get lids for your drinks or bring cups with lids and you won't be bothered, I do wish they would get some type of water on the sidewalks since they get scorching hot (like all of the other HF parks) by 2pm. Also - the last week of the park being opened, the staff is too light - they do not have enough people there to keep wait lines short. It would also be nice to have a drink stand on the lower level of the park by the lazy river so you don't have to climb the hill just to get a drink. Get there early if you have season passes to avoid a huge line!
The rides at this park were fun. We rented a cabana that included free drinks all day long. They need to have a little more attention to detail. One of the lounge chairs was broken and some of the water features had missing pieces of pool plaster. Not a show stopper; but they need to do a better job on maintenance. Major concern were the bees! Make sure that they put lids on ALL drinks. One of the boys went to take a drink and a bee was inside the cup and when he took a sip, the bee bit him inside his mouth. They do have a first aid station and it was staffed with an EMT. He was able to remove the stinger. Luckily, he didn't have a bad reaction to the sting; but we watch him the rest of the time we were there. I asked what they were doing to eliminate the problem and was told that they spray and clean all the trash cans and still can't get rid of them. The bee sting was the only really bad experience we had. Otherwise we had a good time!
I took my 2 grandsons and grand-daughter to be to HF yesterday, and we all enjoyed ourselves. Although the park is busy, the employees keep it pretty clean. It's hard to find a place to park or to sit in the shade unless you get there early, but it still is enjoyable and fun for everyone when you are settled in. Our favorite is the Keiki Kove pool, I can just sit in the water, watch the younger kids play in the water or on the slides, and the bigger kids take off for the high water slides nearby. The lifeguards are very visible and lots of employees around. I really do enjoy taking the grandkids...good for grandparents too!
We spent a day there, with various ages in our group. 7 years old, 10 year old, 34 year old and two 60+ kids.We had gotten 4 free tickets so only had to purchase 1 child's ticket. The food was reasonably priced. They do not allow food brought in unless you have a cooler pass. Water is OK to bring in.There was lots to do for all ages and the place wasn't very crowded on the day we went, which was an overcast Thursday. If we lived in the Dallas area we would probably get a season pass, we liked it that much.
There are about 6 big deal slides/tubes/chutes to ride & the lazy river (unfortunately, the wave action pool was down and it is one of our favs so that was disappointing). There are two really good children's play areas. Lots of picnic areas and chairs but best to get there early...people like to grab tables and several chairs and hold on to them all day. Food and drinks are expensive (feels like the gouging you get at a movie theater). You can bring your own cooler but they charge you $10 do it. They will search your bags so not a good idea to sneak food in. Best buys are getting tickets on line. Occasionally there are Groupons but not often. It cost me $110 to take 3 children (that is one senior, one young child, 2 children). Buy time you try to feed & water them, it is a very expensive day and not one to repeat often. They have some sort of deal to buy a ticket to a different waterpark in their system for $10 once you are inside...but frankly, they are a very long drive from us here and I doubt I would ever do it. It was a fun day and the kids enjoyed it...but I think we would have had just as good a time at the Wet Zone in Rowlett (very near by) for half the price and no problem bringing in our cooler.
