Yes, you can walk around and see the fireworks on New Year's Eve and it is SO MUCH FUN!!! It's fun for the whole family and you can enjoy some of the restaurants in town, too.
Delightful park, quiet, lots of activities. Quite a few ducks, who are getting fat from all the attention.
This park has a lot going on. There is a decent playground for kids. Picnic tables. Bench swings. Fishing pier. Boat ramp (mainly used for kayaks now with the river so low). Basketball courts. Soccer fields. Running and walking trail. Seasonal splash pad. There are plenty of ducks, geese, and swans. They're cute but they can be aggressive. They are rescues that have been relocated. It's a nice place to take the kids for an hour or two. Fun place to take some happy meals and spend some time.
This is a wonderful asset t Bastrop. We love the walk along the Colorado River and the stairs leading up to Main street where the shops are. We walk this often and it is a well used family park. The walkway at Christmas is a must see. Beautiful
Fisherman's Park has a lot of options for families with children. Playground equipment, a pool, and a small water park are what you see as you enter the park. We enjoyed walking along the pathway and down to the river. A lot of people were floating in the river, too. It was a relaxing, but hot, day!
Very pretty view of the Colorado river. Lots of ducks and geese and a playground and water feature for the little kids. It's especially quaint at Christmas when Bastrop puts on our smaller version of the Trail of Lights. The 4th of July is great here with patriotic music and then fireworks over the river.
If you are “just passing through” and need a good leg-stretching spot, or need to air out the kids, this city park has a lot to offer. Playgrounds, basketball, picnic tables, fishing, a boat ramp, volleyball, geese to feed and lots of shade. Paved walks wind through the trees and along the river – great for a little romance. Solo benches are placed here and there for a little privacy. Situated right on the Colorado River, the greenery is a welcome break on a hot day. Well-maintained and safe; closed at sundown.
Went there for the annual Patriot Day fireworks celebration. This is a beautiful little park right on the banks of the Colorado River and just a couple of blocks from historic Main Street.
Fisherman a Oark is free and pretty nice. Watch out for some of the rude people who think they are all that who attend this place.
