Greenwich's Audobon Center has great trails. They are relatively easy to walk/hike, so you can easily avail yourself of the signage to learn about what you're enjoying!
A wonderful opportunity to be out in nature close to NYC. The trails are well mapped and there are choices. The events are special and looking forward to the upcoming Hawk Watch. Since the preserve is in the migration flyway, great place to be for birding this time of year.
The trails at the center were mapped well and not too challenging. The exhibits in the center were very interesting.
I would have liked to have hiked on the many trails on the property, but there was too much snow on the ground. Next time!
The Greenwich Audubon Center combines education & fun for all in a beautiful building with fabulous nature trails that can involve short and long hikes. It holds many, many events throughout the year, ranging from bird-watching to evening movies, interesting presentations and nature education. It is a gem for families with young children as well as older bird-experts. My favorite event of 2013 was Shakespeare in the meadow... As You Like It, delightfully presented by an English troupe in September. It was delicious. There is also an excellent gift-shop.
Unique attraction, great place for everyone to spend the afternoon. Classes, trails, a pond very nice hiking spot.
The Audubon Center in Greenwich was the first one and continues to provide classes and programs daily and all year. The property is a lovely and includes a pond, a meadow, a lake and forest to explore. It is a wonderful place to take the whole family for fun and to increase their knowledge of the environment.
for all the money spent here, you would think it would be deeper and more meaningful. the layout is for endless fundraisers, you can enjoy watching animals at play holding wine glasses.
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, good gift shop; If you live close by, it's a nice place to visit any time of the year.
This place is totally under utilized by the local population. There are lots of paths to walk, and some interesting talks and presentations on a variety of topics by knowledgeable naturalists.
nice trip for the youngest of the family. the volunteers are very kind and explain with much detail to the youngest.
Went along with someone who knows how to identify birds and their song - that really opens the ears to all kinds of delight. We saw an abundance of frogs and 3 snakes mating (we think!). Clearly a lot going on that day. It's a lovely walk over to the bridge with such a pretty view over the water. Lovely, tranquil place
I went in just to pick up information for a future visit and could not leave! There were so many fascinating exhibits that I had to tear myself away.
It is a good place to walk, hike, and support a worthy organization. They have various lectures and activities. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
a excellent birding center for all skill levels. top notch staff thrilled to share insights. extensive trails through varied habitats
