I went two times with family and loved it! So interactive. Great history! Beautifully constructed and informational films.
This is a fantastic tribute to the veterans and the stories of WW I. The exhibits are very interesting and the wok that went into creating this museum should be recognized. I am not very knowledgeable on WW I, but I learned so much from this museum. We were actually there last year during the Big 12 basketball tournament, but decided to go back again this year since we enjoyed it so much. It definitely can be a 2-3 hour tour (as stated by others). The staff are definitely passionate about their jobs, and that makes it even more enjoyable as well.
I understand now why this is a highly-rated attraction. The artifacts from World War I are outstanding. Discounts for tickets are available. We wound up paying $12 for two people. As the tickets are good for two days, it was a very good deal. The view from the tower was good but not impressive. We couldn't believe there were not higher barriers on the observation deck. Glad we didn't have children along.
There are several 'must see' attractions in the greater K.C.area, and the WW I museums is high on my list. It's the only recognized WW I museum in the US and has wonderful old displays of WWI items. It's worth 2-3 hours of your time to watch the video and walk around the displays. For those of you who love history, it's a 'must see'.
All the exhibits were so interesting. Amazed by the replica of the trenches. Liked the interactive stations.
First off when you buy your ticket it is good for two consecutive days, you'll need it. Plan your visit for first thing in the till they close, they have a very nice restaurant inside, and finish the second day. Not only do they an amazing collection of weapons, Canon's,vehicles, and documents, but a research area as well if you are interested in finding someone from that timeline. Other than the main floor, their is no handicapped accessibility. However it would have taken me two days to see everything on the main floor anyway and it was still worth the small cost of admission.
A very interactive museum with artistic presentations. Enjoyed by my Tweens as well as my history-loving husband and myself, the nonhistorian. The food is good there too. We enjoyed the Trench Soup served as it would have been in the trenches.
I didn't have great prospective on WWI. This experience changed that. Exhibit/Museum well done and informative.
Displays were great this place is really big we only went through the first floor and we were there a couple of hours. The price was pretty steep I thought at $14 a ticket for 2 days. I wish they would do $7 for one day instead. If you go on Wednesday the ticket is $7
This museum is a must for history buffs. Very well done, beautiful building. So many displays and items to see, and a good informational movie as well.
