Fantastic place for a wedding and reception. Has a lake that you can have the wedding by. Extremely beautiful.

Okay.. so the wine is pretty typical of all the wineries I've been to in Missouri. Nothing special but still, good. I love the story of the older man who started this winery on his own farm. He's originally from Italy and speaks very rough English but his friends told him he was good a making wine and should open his own winery... so he did! He's the example of "living the American dream"! The food is and has always been outstanding. Sometimes they'll do special dinners. I'm pretty picky about food and their food is delicious! On weekends, they'll offer $5 wine tastings (you can keep the glass) and purchase their appetizers and/or sandwiches OR (and I love this) you can also bring your own picnic lunch! Who let's you bring in your own food? lol You can bring your blanket and enjoy the sun setting over the little pond and listen to the bands play. There are several places to sit including inside a screened in enclosure or under the deck. I like to go there during the winter time and sit inside the screened in building, next to the fire place and read a book while drinking their wine (because it really is pretty much in my own back yard). The grounds are that pretty! This is a popular local place for the high school aged kids to take pictures during homecoming or prom. The owners and staff have always been so kind and generous to allow people to share their beautiful grounds. My friends and I also frequent this place to have a girls day out, listening to music, eating good food and drinking good wine. We'll definitely keep coming back!

A little old Italian guy from St. Louis who was good at making wine had all his friends insist he start a winery, so he did. This is based in an old house built in the 1800's in the country not far from Hillsboro, Mo.. They have a nice pavilion, a pretty lake, and excellent wines, not to mention great food. They have live music on the weekends during the summer. You can go out there, have a good meal and buy a bottle, and just join the party that is always going on. The risotto is particularly good. This is a popular place and if you want quiet, do not go on the weekend! But if you like a happy party, this is not too far out of the way and relatively close to the city, maybe a half hour, to be in a bucolic country place having a good time. Some very ritzy people (like the Mercedes Benz Club, etc.) use this place because of the quality of food and wine. It is still not too well known, kind of a hidden gem. My husband, who restores collector cars for a living, found it when he was invited there to- you guessed it- the Mercedes Benz club get together by some of his customers. We took my cousin out there when she visited us early this spring, and we had a nice time. Booking something you want to be relatively quiet, maybe get a private room somewhere. But if it is a party atmosphere with good music and conviviality, this is a great place.

The food is a little pricey but the addition of umbrellas for the tables would make this winery practically perfect..IT IS BEAUTIFUL AND CONTINUES to grow and improve all the time...we do love having a winery in Jefferson county .since we live in desoto

The atmosphere is great. The wine is ok. We did the dinner a couple years ago and it was very good. Just went again this weekend and same great atmosphere and ok wine.

Villa Antonio is a great place to go with friends. Small enough to be comfortable, large enough to take care of you. Good wine, good food. Great place to spend a nice fall day.

Do not reserve here at this place unless you want to share a tent with 4 other groups and a loud band. Staff was very unfriendly and uncooperative. Not only do they book groups and reserve so many tables they also have tables here and there for others. Way too crowded and not very friendly at all. Very disappointed since I have been here on other numerous occations and enjoyed my visit. Now all I see is the greed without good service. Will not return and many in the party will not either.

We visited Villa Antonio Winery last Sunday and were very impressed! The wines were delicious. For $5 you can sample five different wines and you get to keep the glass. They have a limited menu; we sampled the toasted ravioli ($10) and the Italian sandwich sampler ($10) and both were very good. You can sit on the deck with nice shade and breeze, or sit under the huge tent to listen to the bands. On Sat. and Sun. they have musicians playing in the afternoon. The whole winery is very pleasant, with a pond and gazebo. All of the employees were very nice. You can bring your own food also. What a pleasant way to spend the afternoon!

We arrived - a party of four, two of whom had traveled from Chicago - at 4 pm on a Saturday. We had intended to have a light dinner, some wine, and an hour to visit before we attended a nearby event. Knowing they close at 5 pm, we asked right away if they could put a pizza in the oven. Villa Antonio: "No, kitchen is closed." Us: Do you have ANY food? Cheese, sausage, crackers? V.A.: "Nope, we don't have any food." Us: Okay, well, lets make the most of this and have a wine tasting. V.A.: "We were just bringing it in ... I guess we will have to set it up for you." It was raining, so we asked if there was some place with a roof where we could sit. V.A.: "No. A party is just leaving and we won't have anyone out there." We were also told that we should not run to McDonalds (for food) in one car and plan to come back, because they might lock the gate with the rental car inside while we were gone. Seriously? We paid $20 for four very abrupt wine tastings and left hungry and extremely unwelcome. You should know that #1 I am typically one to compliment and not complain, and #2 I've worked in the service industry for a lone time ... a good establishment doesn't shut down its kitchen a full hour before closing without any signs to warn you of such. I was so disappointed for our out-of-town guests. We had told them how nice it was from a past visit. There won't be any future visits from us ... that is FOR CERTAIN!

We went here for Father's Day with my son, d-i-l, her parents, one granddaughter and d-i-l's half-sister (phew!). We started with the tasting ($5 for a souvenir wine glass and five samples), then took our picnic basket, a couple of bottles of wine purchased from the winery, and some food ordered from the bar. It was raining hard, but we sat outside under a marquee, and listened to a band (slightly too loud) while we did the family meeting rituals. The wine is, frankly, typical of the region - American native grape varieties, jammy, musty reds and flinty but flat whites. The facilities are attractive and good; they know how to make the most of what they have. The afternoon was almost magical, the band played Sweet Home Alabama and the children danced.

We went yesterday to celebrate our 15 yrs and our first time there! We go to many wineries and we have to say we were over impressed by Villa Antonio. The setting is so peaceful, beautiful! The landscaping and the beautiful patios alone are amazing! We got some lunch and tried the chicken strips and salami sandwichs both were great. The wine was delicious and we like they have beer too. The staff was very friendly! We will be back soon, in fact we are planning on bringing some friends in two weeks. Come try this hidden gem!

They have good wine in a beautiful setting only 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. Definitely recommend.

For a lovely afternoon, pack a lunch, picnic blanket and bring your thirst to Villa Antonio for some of their great wines. You can enjoy playing catch in the grass and walking around the beautiful lake.
